Summary: Negative pressure, just the opposite of what I thought xD

Even though I agree with what was said, I think we are mixing up the concepts of convection ventilation and forced ventilation.
In passive mode, hot air flows upwards, but with the obsession (somewhat unnecessary in my opinion) of putting 14 fans, a whirlwind forms in the case
and that's where the concepts of convection are worthless.

Having exclusive ventilation on the CPU and GPU, with air renewal is worth it. You can't fight against the ambient temperature.
My Q6600 with OC is a furnace and with one blowing in the front and another blowing out the back (+ the power supply on top), happier than a lark, hoygan.

+1 XRAY, couldn't agree more xD

And by the way, let's remember that the more fans we put in, the more noise we accumulate, no matter how quiet they are, the greater the number of decibels is noticeable.

I ask how the noise increase (decibels) is calculated. For example, if I mount two ventis that generate 50 dB, I don't get 100 dB, right?

If you had 50 dB in fans you would feel overwhelmed which is not written ?

Obviously not, the increase in noise is not 50+50 = 100
although by logarithmic formula it does increase a small percentage of decibels each time you increase the emission sources.

Here you have a decibel calculator to check it ?

It is a logarithmic function, every 3dBs we double the noise. That is 25+25=28.

Silver fans make noise starting at 1000 RPM and this increases exponentially, in my opinion, performance/silence is more worth having 2 GT 1150s than 1 of 1850. Another important aspect is harmony, if you have a noisy graphics card or power supply, it doesn't make sense to buy some SilentWings USC and put them to run slow if we want silence under load :nono: If we want silence at idle and under these conditions both the power supply and GPU (here we could intervene via software) relax RPM quite a bit, then maybe yes, it also depends on what we are looking for and how we regulate the fans. The GT 1850 for the aforementioned case of silence at idle and performance under load seems like a good option when regulated.

I thought I had nailed it with my equipment but I got a little surprise in the summer, on a hot day with a demanding game the Sapphire makes a little noise :rollani: The next graphics card I get will have a decent cooler that I can OC without sacrificing silence under load.

Get an Accelero S1. It's as quiet as you want it to be (you can leave it passive or put the fan you like best). I've had it for several generations of cards and it's served me well for all of them, even for the ones it's not officially meant for ?

almost at the beginning of the branch, they say it heats up the inside of the tower. I don't know how much it would affect the performance

Well, I've had it for a while. And with the OCZ Vendetta 2 the micro didn't go over 70º at 4Ghz, now at 3'4Ghz with the Archon it doesn't go over 43º, I have to try to push it more but anyway if you have the components reasonably well cooled it's one of the best solutions ?

I don't know if it will be easy to disassemble my graphics card or if it will be noticeable later, so I don't rule it out for the upcoming summer, it's cool in winter.

By the way, sometimes I look at heatsinks and I see few compatible with the 6850 (see the S1), on top of that, I don't know if mine is the reference one. Let's see if I'm going to get something that I can't anchor later :eoh:
