Which graph to use

6850 of the street.

Ok… You're scaring me with the power supply thing. I'm looking at prices on pccomponentes, and I didn't know that a quality power supply was so expensive...
What's the difference between 80 plus bronze, silver, gold, etc?If I get the 6850... Would 600 W be enough or would it be just right? Any specific model that's good/nice/cheap?
Edit: I've already seen the difference between plus, bronze, etc. The energy efficiency...
-
The 6850 doesn't suck up even 150W, I don't think you'll have problems even with a crappy power supply, but well, it's an aspect that shouldn't be neglected.
The bare minimum would be an Antec CP450P for 37€ with which you would only have one 6-pin PCIe (which the 6850 needs), I would get something better like the SilverStone Strider Essential 500W with more power and in a single rail for 56€, plus it has 2 PCIe cables to mount a more serious graphics card. If you're looking to spend little, I suppose the maximum would be a Corsair TX 650 for 88 euros, going through an OCZ ZS for example, the 650W one that is 69 euros.

Thanks for your answers. In the end I am sure I will go with the 6850.
Regarding the power supply, I have been using it for over 2 years and I have not had any problems... that is, I only have one hard drive, a burner and a PCI wifi. I am not going to do crossfire, SLI, overclocking or anything like that.
Using this watt calculator, it tells me that my system, with the 6850, would need a 300 W power supply.
I ask, can I safely continue using my current "clumsy" power supply? Or is it dangerous even if it only consumes 300 W of its "theoretical" 900 W?
Thank you very much again for your attention!

What amperage (12V) does the power supply sticker say?
Editing: Most likely nothing will happen or if it breaks, no components will be damaged, but of course with a good power supply you have even less chance of any of these annoyances happening. If you can sell it or put it in a more modest luxury equipment, otherwise, as you see, if it's too bad to leave for about 50-60€, go with the one you have.

This is the source sticker: -
Focusing on 12V which is what matters, you will consume about 250W of the 336 it has. If you can afford it I would change it, if it doesn't last, there is no other option :ugly:
-
That power supply on its +12V line (the one that matters) is like one of ~400W, which is enough for your computer, but if you can spend ~60€ on a decent 550-600W 80+ or better Bronze power supply, you will be able to amortize it directly from the savings on electricity consumption, in 1-2 years, in which you will also be better protected.
About the graphics card, if you want to play anything, anything below HD67xx is throwing money away, but of the ones you put, for the price difference: HD6850 +1 :sisi:
Salu2!
PD: The imminent release of several new models (GTX680, HD78xx), should continue to lower prices

30A at 3.3V and 55A at 5V, what a rare power supply :ugly:

How are the calculations made? It's just out of curiosity... Thanks!
Edit: I've already seen it 12 * 28 = 336
Thanks!

Salu2!
