Have you looked at this Linksys X3000?

I think it gave a lot of problems at first, but the current firmware seems very stable now. It should be around 110 - 120 euros.

I tell you this with caution, because I have not tried it and, as I said before, it seems that it was very problematic at first.

I do not see that it has torrent downloads.

What you ask for is not unreasonable except for the Torrent download. Perhaps it would be easier (and cheaper) for you to think about two devices instead of one.

There has to be something and not too expensive because I bought a http://www.tp-link.com/en/products/details/?model=TL-WR1043ND for 50 leurers and it has everything you need except for the Torrent thing although I think it could be fixed with alternative firmware. The problem is that in this particular case it is a neutral router so you would have to connect it to your current one but anyway…, if this thing exists there should be some option that doesn't leave you without options for the holidays ;D.

          Best regards.

There are neutral routers like that, I don't see ADSL, I saw one from Trendnet with 2 USB ports TRENDnet TEW-673GRU - Router Gigabit Wireless N de banda dual concurrente a 300Mbps

            TEW-673GRU
I like Trendnet better, the one I bought works fabulously even though I don't use it for everything you want yorus hehe.

We don't have anything that is all in one, like Yorus wants. The one that is most similar is that one, the 673, and it allows ddwrt, but I would keep looking because it comes out relatively expensive for the little screen it has.

Forgive my ignorance but… Can someone explain to me what those torrent downloads on the router are? :alone:

If I understand correctly, the router has a bittorrent client and can record downloads on a USB drive or samba drive? Many NAS devices do that, they download torrents by themselves, without the need for a PC, and basically a router with a USB drive connected is almost like a NAS.

the torrents download themselves, without needing a PC

And how do you tell the NAS to download a torrent if it's not from a PC?

                      @krampak:

¿Y cómo le dices al NAS que te descargue un torrent si no es des de un PC?

Web interface. Others, by copying the.torrent to a certain folder, download that torrent automatically.

So many answers, I like that.

Seeing the first answers from the mobile, I've been thinking that the Torrent part is the most dispensable of all, because I don't spend all day downloading and my main PC has very low consumption, I think it didn't reach 70w at idle, so I would go for something more normal without that function.

The storage part should give me the possibility of FTP with security (SSL or similar) since the intention was to leave it connected continuously and give access to a couple of friends to share things, although as the owner of the infrastructure I would reserve the right to turn off the tap to be able to surf or play online correctly.

Now for storage I have the small computer, but a router would consume less and would directly replace the one from telefónica, and as a hard drive I would put an external laptop one that I already have, although not very big, but enough.

Before starting the branch I found one that had Torrent, I don't remember if it was Asus or what brand, and it didn't reach 90€, but in a review I saw that if I put 3 or more torrents it was capable of almost getting toasted, and for that I'd rather leave the PC.

I'm going to take a look at the models you've put and some more.

                        Regards!

The Linksys X3000 that I set up for you has everything you asked for except the torrent client. It has only one USB port, so you can only connect one disk (or mini-rack of disks).

For the moment I rule out the TrendNet because it doesn't have a modem (it's about reducing the number of devices).

I haven't found many sites selling the Linksys X3000, but the WAG320N which seems similar:

                            http://www.pccomponentes.com/linksys_wag320n_router_modem_wireless_n_adsl2_4_puertos.html

something more economical is the Belkin Routershare, although it looks more like a toy and I trust Linksys more:

                            http://www.hispatienda.es/networking/routers/routershare-modem-router.html

                            I keep looking…

You have two other options, in case you want to continue investigating:

Netgear is not bad in price/quality, the truth is that if you find one with the characteristics you put, I will also buy one! (it's a joke, but when I can, I have to get something with USB ports). Although the torrent thing, for example, I think it is incompatible with a cheap router.

I am looking for data on both and the Asus is impressive, a bit expensive but given what it has, I think it's normal. This one allows you to download via bittorrent without needing a computer.

Asus is putting out some very curious high-end equipment, the truth is that they have their 2-4% of the world market, and they don't fight for the consumer market.

If you can afford it, they usually come out well.

Well, looking at the prices, the two cost more or less 120€. To me, it seems expensive, but well, for the features, those are the prices that are being charged. I will wait for them to drop to 60-80€ to buy one... or so I hope :chuckles:

That Asus yo netgear looks good, if they come out like the dosis 3.0 that euskaltel rents me, I don't even want to see them, what a hotter thing and what a mess it gives.
