      Hello.

I just bought a gtx650 1 gb ddr5 graphics card, so I can play this game, but there is no way, the game is getting stuck and suddenly it's as if everything came in all at once and for 5 seconds everything becomes very fast. I lowered the quality to the minimum but it's still the same.

I have an Ahtlon 64 X2 5600+, M2N-MX SE PLUS, 4gb 800, and gtx650, is this not enough for MW1?? Then I forget about Dead Island :wall:

      Goodbye.

        Hello and welcome

It seems to me that this equipment is just right, especially the processor (it is identical to my PC2) and the handicap it has is that both the graphics and the game use a lot of processor. The GTX 650 is not a marvel precisely, although in theory it is fast and it is enough to play.
Check that you do not need to install any patches for the game or update the graphics drivers (or even go back to older ones)

        Greetings

Well I just bought the GTX 650, I thought that with that I could play games from 2010 + or -, I already tried the drivers and nothing, in fact they recommend the latest ones which are the ones I have now.

I exceed the recommended reqs for this game, or so I think, that's why I don't understand why it's going so bad...

Well if you come up with something, tell me because I'm a bit disappointed, I know I have to change my equipment, but it's not the time for that lately.

          Regards.

Check the internet to see if the game needs a patch. Is it original? It could have a lot to do with it…
Try other games with that graphics to see how they go.

We'll take a quick look to see what I see around here.

*The game was not MW, but AT WAr

Some application to see if my computer is working well. I've searched for a benchmark, but if I don't get anything to compare with, I don't care if I get 2500 or 100000.

              Best regards and thanks.

It's very strange, you see, I have a core duo at 2 GHz and a laptop graphics card that's much less powerful and with only 512 megs of VRAM, I run COD perfectly. You must have a problem with the configuration/system, what's happening to you is not normal. What resolution do you have it set to?

Resolution I have tried it at 1024 and at 800x600, and it makes no difference.

Have you tried that graphics card on another computer or did someone lend you one to rule out the graphics card as a possible failure?
Does it happen with other games?
Do you have the current drivers for the card?

These graphics cards do not consume much, but in the Nvidia specifications they ask for a minimum of 400w from a decent power supply, but anyway, do the previous tests to be sure.

I have tested a 7650 on this computer and the result was the same.

I just tested it with Ghost Recon Warfighter 2, with almost everything on full and it got stuck quite a bit, I understand that being a game from 2006 (I think) it should run without problems at full capacity.

The drivers are the latest from Nvidia, and I just downloaded the ones for AGEIA PhysX to rule out that it was something related to that.

The power supply I have is 450w, not very good, and I just tested it with a 350w one that is better, it gave 20A on the 12v line (the same as the 450W one) and with other Ram modules at 667 and the result was the same.

I forgot about Windows ultimate 64 bits, freshly formatted (I thought it was the system and that was the first thing I did)

Rarro rarro rarro, what is happening here.

The CPU voltage was oscillating at almost 1.4v, I don't know if that is normal (in the bios it is on automatic)

                      Regards.

Well, all that's left for you to do is to test the graphics card on another PC if you can, given what's happening to you I'd almost be inclined to say it's a fault with the card.

The graphics are the only thing I think is working well, since I tried a 6770 a few weeks ago and it did exactly the same thing, so I thought it was the graphics and I changed it, this one I don't think is bad either. I thought about the drivers for the motherboard, but there's nothing, just for the network and sound, I thought that maybe like via had the 4in1, but for this one there's nothing.

I for testing would already install the latest drivers for the board and update the BIOS in case it is not. Anyway they are quite old but to try and stretch that board.

And I would even dare to say that the fault could be in a damaged/very slow hard drive…

I will try to install the latest Bios, which I swear is not the latest. I will also put a Sata disk that I have lying around unused and test it, with that I have enough for a while.

*I have a 500g disk partitioned, one partition for the system and another for games etc. Is it noticeable to have the system and games on the same partition??

                                  Thanks for the suggestions.

                                  Best regards.

                                    The requirements for CoD WW:

                                    OS: Windows XP / Vista / 7
                                    Processor: Pentium 4 at 3 GHz / AMD 64 3200+
Memory: 512 MB of RAM (1 GB on Vista)
Hard Drive: 8 GB of free space
                                    DirectX: DirectX 9.0c
                                    Sound: integrated or better
Graphics: 256 MB (nVidia GeForce 6600 / ATI Radeon X1600)

                                    (Taken from Steam)

With that equipment, it should move smoothly, but let's go... fixed. Also the Modern Warfare (1,2 and 3). The Black Ops you may have to adjust some parameters, but it should also work.

Anyway, maybe you should check that you don't have any "strange" processes running, to see if you have any trojans, viruses, etc. Even the Antivirus can influence, or some programs running in the background.
I had a huge problem with a Need for Speed, and it was that it gave me those micro cuts every little while and it was going terribly with an i7 + 6950 and it was that I had a piece of trojan like a piano :ugly:

Anyway, I think the issue is in software.

                                    Greetings!!

I have just tried with these changes.

With another source, another hard drive, clean installation with WinXP, updated BIOS, clean installation of Ghost Recon Warfighter 2 (it requires less equipment) and it continues to crash.

The CPU voltages give me 1.40 or even something more, I think I will have a damaged motherboard or micro, although outside of the games everything seems to be correct.

If anyone comes up with something else, I appreciate it, if not, I will have to get used to the idea of new equipment in the future and having spent money on a graphics card for nothing :wall:

What temperature does the micro reach? It may be slowing down to avoid burning out. To be honest, I can't think of what it could be.

In the end it seems it's a problem with the motherboard, for reason X it doesn't perform as it should. If I had a motherboard with the same socket, I could try it... but well, with the tests I've done it's enough, if I had dedicated that time to work and they had paid me, I would have new equipment.

Now to look for new equipment, by the way I'm really excited about the processors especially the AMD ones, what a mess they have with the FM's.

                                          Thanks to all and goodbye.

Second hand you can find some cheap am2 for sure but if you can get new equipment better that better, FM is not a platform focused on gaming if you look for AMD you should go to an AM3+ and if you can I would try to get an intel ivy right now looking at performance as they perform better for now.
