Well, after so much waiting, I said I would buy an SSD when something convinced me and this is the drive. It gives superior performance to most (500 read/write) without being sandforce (so as not to kill myself) at a more or less reasonable price (€200) and with the capacity I need, mostly because of the games that have become very heavy (in size).
So if anyone has something to say, speak now or forever be silent, because I will be sent the package soon.
I leave you some reading in case you are interested, I have seen so much that I am already saturated, I hope I have a good idea of the real performance.

A very complete review with real cases of the 512GB one that is supposed to perform the same: http://www.myce.com/review/samsung-840-pro-512gb-ssd-review-65348/Real-world-tests-7/

Well, it's done, they send it to me on the 18th, I just hope it doesn't give me configuration problems. Any recommendations for the migration, I was thinking of installing from scratch and copying the games after the old disk, is it better to enter the format manually or let the installer of w7/fedora do it? -
I suppose that in Windows there will be no problem with multiples of 4K. In Linux I don't know, here they comment something:
-
So I mean that in Linux I will have to bring out the calculator, but Windows then does it by default?
-
What a great drive you're going to get, what a good kind of envy. It quintuples the reading performance of my Seagate and in writing it's better not to do the calculation (and in access it's already known mechanical vs. SSD). -
Don't think I do it gladly, especially because my RAID of barracuda 12 is already very worn out, but after seeing the problems that the SSDs have been causing, it has been a miracle that I got motivated. If you wanted SF performance and prayed that it would work and if not, why the hell spend the money, and that one of 128GB was not enough for me and 256GB were too expensive; I had set my sights on the Intels that in the end were not what I expected. This one, with its own Samsung chip, seems reliable and fast, and although I don't like Samsung for certain things, it has a good reputation for memory and is a manufacturer. But I'm already telling you that I'm scared of it, thank goodness it has a 5-year warranty, I hope it lasts without degrading for a few years.
-
Good guarantee those 5 years, that gives much more confidence.
-
Congratulations on the purchase, you will certainly "fly" in the system, and you will not lack capacity. Praise be to those 5 year warranties, like Corsair sources or similar hardware, if it were more economical I would buy it because I, like you, feared the low reliability of SSDs but, well, 5 years are well worth it.
Regards

What a bargain..
I now have a 64gb mushkin deluxe and it works well, it's a few years old but it works perfectly, no problems.
And it cost me 200 euros :ugly:

Does anyone know anything about the durability of the lower model the 840, with its TLC, Anandtech has tested it:
AnandTech | Samsung SSD 840: Testing the Endurance of TLC NAND
The PRO doesn't have TLC, I'm tempted by the price of the NON PRO on Amazon, but if its durability is less, then it's not worth it.
Best regards.
PD. Any reviews of the PRO:

I would get an M4 and be at ease xD -
look you are obsessed with the M4; @__winters__ get the PRO that compensates for the lower models even the 128GB are different. -

-
Yeah, the truth is that it's still a bit expensive, wait because you know that this will go down in price. The only one is 128gb but I doing calculations it doesn't fit everything

-
Well it arrived a while ago and I have already migrated the OS, the assistant took 10min, I activated AHCI and little more now I need to make a space for Linux and install it.
-
Congratulations on the purchase, what a cucumber ;D
I would like one but for now, for the use I give to the computer, I recognize that it would be a whim and with my 2 TB WD black I am fine, but someday I hope to have an SSD.
-
On the one hand it's a whim but on the other it's the most important advancement in recent times. You don't need to rush or even skimp on the CPU/GPU budget but having an i5 and a decent graphics card is the next investment, you'll see that you won't want to give up the SSD once you install it.
-
Ya te digo, creo que actualmente es una de las mejores inversiones que se pueden hacer en un PC, ¡yo quiero dos!
-
Let's say it's a delicious whim hehe, I got rid of the barracuda raid with pleasure, now I have more silence and more performance. The good thing is that I don't use much capacity with 256 for the pc 64 on the laptop and a small 500gb usb3 external drive that I use to store movies and music, I back up the photos on DVD… I don't need more, I don't plan to buy more mechanical drives for the system. -

Something like this is what I have in mind, but 120Gb is enough for me, since I have decided not to continue with Windows or its games, so for Linux I have more than enough. And what you say, a good USB3 drive for music, videos, etc… and racking up miles.
