Right now I have a gigabyte nvidia geforce gtx 550ti, I got it about a year and a little. Now I was thinking about another one that is better, since some games do not run at full, although at a medium high level they go well, like for example, battelfield3, far cry 3, dishonored, tomb raider, the assasins 4 for example, I have to put it to low/medium. My maximum budget would be 300 euros, I think I would already have more than enough, I have been looking at pccomponentes and there is an ASUS gtx 650 ECo of 2gb, you do not need to plug it into the power supply, it costs 108 euros, but I do not know if it would be worth it, then I have seen several that range between 200 and 300, and I have doubts about buying something or waiting a while in case something new comes out and what is there drops in price, by the way my monitor is LG of 21.7 and only supports D-SUB(VGA). I renewed the rest of the equipment about 7-8 months ago.
-ASUS Sabertooth 990FX R2.0 motherboard

AMD Phenom 2 x4 965 processor, 4 cores at 3684 MHz

RAM memory, 8gb of Kingstom, it is a module, but I do not know more

The power supply is coolmaster 650w.
I do not know if with this data you can guide me a little if it is convenient or not, to change the graphics card and which one to get.
Thanks.

Sent from my U30GT-H using Tapatalk

Reply to Graphics card doubts on Thu, 12 Dec 2013 19:21:57 GMT

I have finally made my decision.
Asus GeForce GTX 660 DirectCU II OC 2GB GDDR5 90YV0392-M0NA00 Graphics Card
Seagate SSHD 2TB SATA 3 ST2000DX001 Hard Drive
Zalman Z11 Plus Zalman Z11 Plus Case/Tower
I needed more space for the hard drive, and another drive, so I decided on this hybrid. samsung 840 evo 250gb sata3
they are about 148 € (pccomponentes) but from what I have read they are very fast, installing the OS, games, programs and other things, this capacity will be enough that you can reuse in a new computer, but I would prefer to wait until I change my computer, because by then the SSDs should be cheaper and maybe there will be cases that you like more.

I still don't have an SSD, until I change my computer I don't want them, by then they will probably have gone down in price because as new disks with more capacity and better manufacturing process come out, the others usually go down and for what it costs now one of 250gb, maybe in a few months you will find one with more capacity.
I fill an SSD in no time and it seems small to me.

With just installing Steam the 250gb drive seems tiny to me.

regards

<guid from my GT-I9100 using Tapatalk

To me the 270x seem expensive, the 7870 is exactly the same, if those 270x have better dissipation and maybe perform a little more by going to higher frequency, but if you overclock the 7870 it will be the same or maybe better because I think it allows more voltage, I think these R9s have had their voltage capped more, in this 28nm process it's important because more voltage usually allows for greater OC.

But they have renamed the cards and now it seems like a new series and the only new ones are the R9 290 and 290x, the others are the 7970ghz renamed to 280X and 7870 renamed to 270x, that's why a difference of 50€ seems like a lot to me, for cards that should perform similarly, the case of the 280x seems better to me since it costs the same or less than the 7970ghz.

The one that comes out better is the one that gives BF4 if it's a game you plan to buy, the 4Gb one I don't see much sense in it because it will lack the power to eat that Vram, you would need two or three cards.
<p
