Since currently the laptop turns on and off and I don't know what's going on, for now I'm trying to fix it but I would like to know your opinion and if anyone has tried it.
The curious thing is that the laptop I have has another vga port (blue color) but it doesn't send a signal to the other desktop monitor, and then I have this dilemma.
Regards.

Reply to USB-VGA adapter on Thu, 12 Dec 2013 13:33:49 GMT

@<bdi>torquis</bdi>:

Yes, you are right, I expressed myself wrong, I don't think the graphics are damaged at least since the update failed me, it's just that I don't see anything at all, totally black screen, no access to bios or anything, so the question is a bit absurd.

The thing is that I followed a manual to reset the bios of my laptop, but it requires a combination of keys and when I run out of options or at least that's what I think, I thought that if at least I could see something on the screen with some option (f1, or press this or that) I could choose and I thought that maybe the graphics were damaged, but of course it's not that it's damaged it's that the bios is corrupt and I thought about putting the external usb-vga just in case.

But now that I think about it these us-vgAs will have their own drivers I don't know if they will be installed automatically on the hard drive or simply not installed because of the corrupt bios.

The question is that if when updating the failed bios, by chance it only affected the graphics, I could buy this usb-vga and get into the bios to reconfigure the factory values.

But I think that's not the case, because the laptop turns off and turns on by itself, after several restarts. It would be different if the screen were broken.
By the way, if you say that the BIOS is damaged... where does the graphics problem come from? It may be in perfect condition, but with the BIOS damaged, no component will recognize it and therefore nothing will work.

Greetings

Sylver
