Connect cable modem to ethernet

Wenas a todo el mundo. A ver si podeis hecharme una manita, hombre. Pos vereis mi conexion a internet es ONO128 y tengo el modem d 3com este q parece una aleta d tiburon o algo asi, conectado x USB y habia pensado q conectandolo a una tarjeta ethernet igual conseguiria un acceso más rápido. Q opinais?
Si la respuesta, como supongo, es q si obtendre una mejora en el acceso a internet… como deberia conectar el modem a la ethernet? con cable trenzado o hilo a hilo? pq? q diferencia hay entre uno y otro?
Weno, supongo q no será mu dificil responder a tan simples preguntas. No se como me atrevo :D:D:D Weno, espero vuestras respuestas. Gracias x adelantado.

la verdad es que si por usb no te da problemas, no creo que notes gran cosa pasando a tarjeta de red. lo bueno es que tendras inet en linux…y tal.
el cable de red creo que tiene que ser sin cruzar.

ptm56, todos los cables de red van trenzados, aunq pueden ir cruzados o rectos. Probablemente te viniera con el modem un cable (con el motorola viene) usa ese, sino como bien a disho J_P debe ir recto.
