Problem with touchpad

Tengo un portatil clonico al que le he instalado una mandrake 9.1 el caso esque este portatil tiene un touchpad pero normalmente lo utilizo con un raton usb. El caso esque si usandolo con el raton usb tan siquiera rozo en touchpad deja de responder el teclado. Es decir no puedo escribir absolutamente nada.
Alguno sabe como arreglar este lio??El puñetero tiene un chipset sis 630 con absolutamente todo integrado en placa el cual no fui capaz de configurar en la debian asi que me rendi a usar mandrake en el portatil
