Buenas.
Tengo un lio con todas las categorias de cables de par trenzado, bien apantallado o bien sin apantallar.
Yo conozco hasta CAT-5, que permite hasta 100Mbits/s.
Pero me surge la duda ¿Ha existido la categoria CAT-5.5 y alguna superior a la 6?
Es que me comentan que para que funcione una red a 1000Mbits/s se necesita cable CAT-6.
Quiero que alguien ponga una referencia entre las relaciones de categorias y sus caracteristicas.

Si y no, me explico es condición suficiente pero no necesaria ya que con un categoria 5 se podria tener perfectamente la red de 1000, esto ya depende la tarjeta de red que soporte este tema o no, leete las especificaciones de la ethernet ahi te pondrá la cat que necesitas de cable. Por ponerte un ejemplo te pongo este:

Esta tarjeta soporta 10/100/1000 con Cat 5 sin ingún problema.
