DFI dead lanparty
-
Good evening:
After not posting for so long due to lack of time and lack of updates, my dfi has died. From what it seems and what I have read, it's the memory slots that no longer memorize. So I'm left with an opteron170 but without a motherboard, and it seems that AM2s are not compatible, but since I don't trust my mother either, I want to know if I make a keychain or if I have another possibility that isn't the 90€ of asrock mATX, which although it's interesting, it's not that much so I'll get an x2 and its motherboard and still have some left over. And I have a couple of DDR2 modules around here so I would already be served.
Keychain or motherboard?

I used to leave it forgotten, because investing €90 now in a 939 seems too much to me, especially if you then have problems.
Either you look well in the second-hand market or you get an X2 and the board.
Even if you look at it well you can get an i3 of the new ones
for about €120 or so -
I agree with hAyO, it is more cost-effective to get the X2 and its motherboard, or the option to stretch to the i3 which I think is almost better, since we are updating. It would be worth it honestly.
What a shame about Lanparty… :llorar: I always wanted to have one and the loss must hurt...

Look for something second-hand, or sell the micro and memory and as they tell you, make the jump to something more powerful but cheap.

It's just that I was thinking that an i3 would be more cost-effective, or that with those 90€ I could get an X2 and a motherboard, which, since it's only for HTPC, I have more than enough.
By the way, "I almost cry". -
I would sell the Opteron and the memory, and buy an H61 motherboard with an i3 2100 and that's it, that is if I would move the 7900GT to the i3 2100 and the 6600GT in the E4400 that you have or a 7900GT in each one.
Or even sell the 2 6600GT and get an ATI for HTPC.

Hi, I think I have to update my signature, but I'm so lazy...
the dfi+opti+2gb+3400hd were the HTPC with a 60GB sata from a laptop and the scithe in passive.
For the new one I was thinking of a motherboard with micro+gpu and leave the dedicated one for when I need fullhd, so I gain in performance and heat. But for the 90€ or so of the motherboard I'll do something like this.
