Hello everyone! ? Once again I turn to this community for advice, having done so successfully in the past.

And I want to change the motherboard, processor, cooler and memory, updating my already outdated equipment a bit. As for the rest of the components, I already have a tower, I have a 600W power supply and a 1 GB ATI HD 6770 DDR5.

As for the budget, I want to be able to stick to the 250€. As for the specifications, let's go step by step:

RAM: 4 GB DDR3 (I've seen some Kingston at 1800MHz for about 26€)

Motherboard: basic, with 2 memory slots would be enough, that supports PCIe and includes the worst integrated graphics card possible (I understand that this would lower costs, since I already have a graphics card - if not, this data doesn't matter too much).

Processor: I've been looking especially at the AMD X4. In comparison, the 4-core intel (both Core 2 Quad and i5) I've seen that they are much more expensive. Also, given the proximity of the Bulldozer launch, everything points to the previous series lowering costs (and my intention is to make this purchase towards December - January).

Cooler: the appropriate one for the processor within the budget.

If you see that there is something better than what I said, feel free to change it (I only made suggestions based on my little experience). I would also like to know another different combination, if you are willing, for 350€ more or less, since if the difference is great, one could stretch up to that point. But initially at 250.

      Cheers!

            Hello,

I would like to revisit this topic, asking for help again with a combination of these components, for the same budget (250 - 300, which with the new developments now things will change a bit).

It has been quite some time since I intended to change, but I have not yet had the opportunity to do so.

            Thank you and goodbye!

With 4 GB of RAM I think I have more than enough; try to recommend me another RAM model, please (also, to try to lower the price a bit).

I assume that the processor includes a standard heatsink, right?

Thank you very much, buddy ;D

Edit: I just thought about it and… for that price range, isn't an FX-8120 worth it? I really would like to hear a combination of AMD, and some opinion on that.

Edit (2): sorry, one more question, is the Ivy Bridge you suggested (3450) better than the Sandy Bridge i5 2500K?

hello. look at these comparisons here
but intel is still intel (as much as i hate to admit it :wall:
this other one, this one is very good, it's a comparison of graphics and micros on battlefield 3 here

Very interesting, thank you very much.

It is curious, the 3550 is 13€ away from the 3450, and it seems to perform much better; on the other hand, the 3450 is also 13€ away from the AMD 8120, and they seem to be very even. I am more attracted to the AMD, frankly, because of the price. Now I really want to know a recommended motherboard for this micro, because if I can adjust the price more, getting almost the same thing... great, because we are not here to throw money away.
