Somewhat old computer and graphics update
-
I have this old computer as my second PC. The graphics must have been a bluff because half of the screen appears in black and every time you open any window it gets stuck and flickers in black.
CPU Type: AMD Athlon 64, 2400 MHz (12 x 200) 3400+
Motherboard Name: ASRock K8SLI-eSATA2 (3 PCI, 1 PCI-E x1, 2 PCI-E x16, 1 Future CPU Port, 2 DDR DIMM, Audio, LAN)
Motherboard Chipset ULi/ALi M1697, AMD Hammer
DIMM1: Kingston K 1 GB PC3200 DDR SDRAM (3.0-3-3-8 @ 200 MHz) (2.5-3-3-7 @ 166 MHz) (2.0-2-2-6 @ 133 MHz) DIMM2: Kingston K (same, 2048 total)GeForce 7600 GT (256 MB) video card
NVIDIA GeForce 7600 GT (256 MB) video card
It has a network card.
Generic case and power supply (I don't know the voltage). A generic CPU cooler that runs at about 3500RPMThe thing is that before it gets too old I would like to modernize it at least by upgrading the card.
I've noticed this one that's cheap (35.90) on APP: ASUS GEFORCE 210 1GB DDR3
SILENT DI 1GD3 V2(LP)I look at the specifications on the page (I think it's the same)

I don't recommend spending a lot because your computer is starting to be of retirement age.

If the graphics card you had was good enough for what you needed, I wouldn't put anything much better in it. An 8600GT can be around 20€ for example second-hand. With a Giga of RAM you're not too over-equipped for current games and with that micro either, so put a graphics card that matches the performance of the computer, don't buy anything much better.

Thank you very much for responding first of all.
The idea of choosing the 210 was that it seemed like a very cheap card and enough to make the PC work at not too high a price (the computer doesn't deserve much more expense). No one has commented yet on whether it works for that board and processor.
I already imagine that a 7600 would go just as well but they don't sell it anymore and second-hand I don't know how it will be in terms of being burned out. That's why I wanted a card of that type that was cheap (no more than 40 euros) so that the computer would work normally (without high-level games).
Goodbye. And I am still attentive to suggestions of simple graphics cards that are sold now and that would serve me for that board. I don't know if the 210 would still be worth it.

The GT210 is quite weaker than the 7600 GT. If you want to make a change, you can get the GT220 if you find it, as it has a performance very similar to the 8600 GT, or also as advised here the HD6450 for about 40 €.
But as Bm4n told you, your AMD 64 3400+ PC is already asking for retirement.

I also think that the 220 is very weak, nvidia in the low range I think does not compensate, the 6450 would still serve you to play something in 3D.

Finally I acquired the 5670. No incompatibility issues and the PC problems solved. It will last for some time more.
Thanks for everything. Regards
