If you don't want/know, you have to configure the connection manually, but for that you need to know the network in which the router is located (for example 192.168.1.x) and its IP (gateway).

Thanks for responding Cobito
Look, after asking around, I was told to type the following in the terminal:
-sudo ifconfig or sudo ifconfig -a
then I should go to network interfaces and enable the card
or
through the terminal, type: ifconfig eth0 up
is that right or not?

If you have the connection configured manually or a DHCP server is running on the router, yes.

If the router is configured to connect to the internet, in Windows I just plug the network cable into the PC and it works, but in Linux I thought it was the same, but I am more excited to learn this technology to grow as a computer scientist and to contribute to the community for children or teenagers who want to improve themselves

I will try the information you provided me and I will tell you how it went at home

It should be the same as on Windows. The fact that you have to manually bring up the connection is quite strange. What network card do you have?

Finally
Look, in the end what I did was manually configure the card and enabling the DHCP server on the router and it worked perfectly, I browse much faster than Windows, I don't know why, now to learn Linuxxxxxx, I will also contribute to young people who want to learn Linux Thank you very much
