Graphics Card Guarantees
-
Hello to all hardlimit users. As some of you may know, my graphics card recently broke, due to, I believe, an overload of static electricity. I sent an RMA form, to which they have responded satisfactorily, and I am thinking about sending the card. My doubt comes because I disassembled the original case of the heatsink, and then I reassembled it, but I included a little bit of thermal paste (of a slightly different color than the one the graphics card already had) on the chip. My question is: Does the warranty get canceled because of that? Why can the warranty of a graphics card be canceled? Interesting discussion, friends.
As always, my gratitude and a greeting to all!!:D -
Man, how to void it can, depends on how picky the company wants to be. Now, if it was just applying a little thermal paste and there is no obvious physical damage, I don't think they'll even bother to look at it. I suppose they'll test it in various ways and when they detect that it doesn't work they'll send you a new one, the same or with similar characteristics. The warranty can be voided if there is clear evidence of tampering or misuse and the graphics card has been burned (usually doesn't happen), a capacitor broken by the user's hand or a blow, obvious physical damage... Clearly visible details that endanger the proper functioning of the series graphics card are grounds for voiding a warranty. Regards -
I don't think there is any obvious physical damage, of course I have looked at it thoroughly and I haven't seen anything. But still I find it hard to take the risk because if they send it back to me I have to pay 50 bucks for transport and handling!!:|

uncle, don't worry, if it broke just by touching it and it has no VISUAL defect, they should replace it and forget about it... you say that one day you were not going to go, and if you said that when you touched it it broke, say that it's their problem not yours, that happened to me with the car radio, you couldn't take off the cover with the USB connected because the internal computer detected an error and it broke forever, I did it by accident and they replaced it because it was under warranty -
open the casing, I don't think they will, but the ENGTX are very hard to open (I even changed the thermal paste) and it's normal that you break a couple of plastic tabs and that is clearly visible, and that voids the warranty because you have tampered with the graphics card, but send it in, if it comes out well you gain more than you can lose :D:D
