Hello, anyway it doesn't seem like you have much idea of how to handle a tester which can get you into trouble in the form of circuit breakers, watch out for what you do

Measure it with the source disconnected from the board, make a bridge for it to start up and check it with the multimeter.

Bm4n sorry but you read the " 10" ? doesn't have a multimeter and doesn't know how it works :mute:
so maybe it burns something ….

Thanks but I have already read your comment, it's yours that I don't read :risitas:

I only respond to your question of whether I could check the power supply with a multimeter, and yes, for little idea and measuring with the power supply disconnected from components and board it is easy to do. And if not even there are power supply checkers that work simply by connecting them to the connector that goes to the board.

well the truth is I have never used the multimeter but I am going to go to a colleague's house who does know how to use it since he works with it.
Anyway, tell me how I have to use it so that I can tell my friend what you tell me, so I know that the black cable is the ground and the yellow one is the 12v, I suppose that I will have to set the multimeter to volts and then the black probe of the multimeter to the black pin and the red probe to the pin of a yellow cable, that is the first one I want to check both the volts and the amps since that is the one that goes to the graphics and maybe that is why it does not display the image on the screen My question is the following, on the power supply it says +12v1 +12v2 and -12V what is the difference and how do I test them?

gentlemen, I tell you that I have measured the power supply with the multimeter and the volts are fine, it is almost certainly the motherboard or the graphics card, the problem is that I do not know where to test my graphics card, I do not know anyone with a moderately powerful computer to connect it to, my aunt has a computer with pciexpress but the power supply is generic 500w and without auxiliary cables to connect them to the graphics card, do you think that at least it will have the power to turn on?????

in the case of the graphic card, do you happen to have molex adapter cables or someone you know who has the cables?

well I just looked but one thing the graphics comes as for two inputs like the cables that you gave me but in the box I have a single cable but with two outputs moles is the same no???? if I use that do you think the generic 500w power supply will work

I suppose you are missing a cable, but you can try. A 500w PSU I think gives more than enough for the motherboard and graphics and a disk with the OS also I don't think that to test the graphics you need hundreds of HDDs and fifty DVDs ¿no? ?
