Duda with Windows 7, Asus P5KR and Power management system
-
Hello everyone, I wanted to comment on a doubt I have, just in case someone knows what it could be...
The thing is that I just installed Windows 7 64-bit on my computer, and after installing multiple drivers for the graphics, the sound card, etc., in the "Action Center" I get an alert message with the following text:
"Download and install the driver for power management system.
Missing a driver for power management system
Follow these steps to solve this problem:
1 - Click here to download the driver from the ASUSTeK Computer Incorporated website.
2 - Download and extract the driver files
3 - Install the driver"The thing is that when I click to automatically download the driver, I get a file called "AMDCoolnQuiet_Utility_V21801_XPVistaWin7", but I don't have anything AMD on the computer!
I don't know what the hell the power management system is, but I don't want to install something that isn't for my computer that then you know... :nono:
Anyway, my PC is an Intel Core 2 Duo E8200@2.66 Ghz with an Asus P5KR motherboard (which doesn't have drivers for Windows 7 :llorar:), let's see if anyone knows what I'm missing or how I can make other drivers work...
Thanks a lot in advance, I hope for your suggestions...

Use the view controllers, which should work well.

So it would be, as I think, something from the motherboard, right?
And the thing with Vista… do I have to do something to make W7 catch it, or does it handle it on its own? I haven't really got the hang of it yet...

Thanks!

I got the same message yesterday and I installed that file without any major problems or complications. It's not always the case that Windows wants to crash your computer :p.
Best regards.

Well, I have nothing to say, if you can't find something for 7 and this one is for vista, you can try it, it's sure to work, since they are basically the same thing.

Okay, it seems to be fixed, although in a somewhat strange way:
I downloaded the file that W7 offered me, installed it, and it was a utility to control a "refresh mode" of CPUs that comes with some Asus motherboards.
Mine doesn't have it
so the program, when I started it, told me it was incompatible. I uninstalled it and ¡Tachín! the message is gone.I have no idea why it came up, but the alert message is gone, so I consider it fixed…
Thanks a lot to everyone for the advice!
