RAM memory compatible with AMD motherboard?
-
Hello
I always ask around here before changing anything on the PC, because you always help me a lot.
You see, two years ago I put a phenom 955 in a gigabyte GA-MA790XT-UD4P motherboard: (AM3) DDR3, 2PCIe, sATA2, 7.1, GLan, Fw: http://es.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-ma790xt-ud4p_10/specs/
Currently I have these 2x2gb kingston ddr3 memories at 1333
Kingston ValueRAM KVR1333D3N9/2G PC3-1333: Amazon.es: Electronics
Lately I have seen that the ram is cheaper and I wanted to expand to 8 GB. And I have doubts about expanding the one I already have, which I think is not very good... or get some of these kits at 1600 mhz that I have seen on amazon, although I am not sure if they are fully compatible because they mention a lot about Intel in the product reviews.
Kingston HyperX - RAM Memory 8 GB PC3-12800 DDR3 (1600 MHz, 240-pin): Amazon.es: Electronics
So I have two questions
1. Will the performance change a lot when I go from 1333 to 1600 with 8gg or will I not even notice it?
2. Are these amazon kits compatible with my amd motherboard... I am not clear in the list of supported memories? Should I get the kingstons or the g-skills?As always thanks for your help, I look forward to your response to order some of the memories.

either of the two you put will serve you, do not worry I would buy the GSKILL
it will always work better for you to have two memory modules than four

Thanks I have already ordered the g-skills, I will tell you how they were

any of the two you put will work for you, don't worry I would buy the GSKILL

why do you say that??? I have 4gb in two modules of 2gb and now I want to expand it and put another two modules of 2gb to reach 8gb are you telling me that my computer will run worse than before??

I just installed them today. They are wider than the ones I had, the only thing left is the doubt if they are really working at 1600. I'll put some screenshots of the cpu-z, because I've been reading and I think I have to change something in the bios and it gives me a certain respect... As always I hope you enlighten the way before... Thanks

What Ferelxyx means is that 2 modules of 4 GB are better than 4 of 2 GB.
But, obviously, the system will not run worse with 8 GB than with 4 GB.I still have doubts if they are really running at 1600.
Indeed they are not running at 1600 Mhz but at 1333 Mhz.
I do not know the details of your BIOS but since the memories support the XMP profiles try to activate them so that they are configured automatically, otherwise, you will have to raise the SPD.
But as I say I do not know the options that the BIOS of your motherboard has.Best regards.
