      Hello,

I changed the graphics card a few days ago for a passive hd5450. As soon as the PC starts up, where the POST appears, etc., many dots (like noise) started to appear all over the screen, also in Windows.

It always happens to me when I start it cold. As time passes (about 5 min) the dots disappear and everything is ok.

It seems like the graphics card doesn't work well until it heats up.

      Can I do something?

If you have changed the graphics card and the same thing happens, check if it's not the monitor ?

If it's a new failure of this graphics card, it must have some problem with the memory soldering, so either you try to use the warranty, or you venture into the experiment of putting it in an oven.

        Salu2!

I think the same as Fassou, it looks like that graphics card has some soldering problem or that the GPU is defective for some reason. The "artifacts" (which is what you get if you haven't described it wrong) are often a symptom of soldering problems in the graphics, or that the GPU is damaged, sometimes irreparably. If you comment that after a while they disappear, possibly it is not very damaged, but I would go testing it on another computer and on another monitor too, to rule out that it was a problem unrelated to it, and if it is confirmed that it also fails in those cases, then to use the warranty directly and without hesitation.

          Regards

the monitor is not, because it works well with other graphics.

i don't have a warranty because i bought it from ebay in germany.

so the only means are mine. the oven thing was a joke or is it a possibility? hehe

tell me programs to run some benchmarks and see what you think

on the other hand i bought another hd5450 that when i install it says it's a 5400.

if you want i can test both and then compare them.

anyway, it seems like i'm not going to have a normal hd5450 ? that said, one cost me 8 euros and the other 19, which i think is very good. since what matters most to me is that they consume little and that they are passive.

You can read this post about the graphics resuscitation system using an oven.

If the dots are only an aesthetic problem and disappear after a few minutes, everything is getting used to it ?

It is normal for me to tell you that it is an HD 5400 Series, that is, that it belongs to the 5400 series. My HD 5850 is also recognized by the system as an HD 5800 Series, because it belongs to that series. Therefore, you have nothing to fear ?
