I wouldn't change. The economic outlay is too high for the performance you're going to gain. The 460 GTX is still a pretty good graphics card today unless you want to play at very high resolutions at the typical games that demand a lot of graphics, but in your case I wouldn't make the change and even less for that money.

        @Obione:

It's appreciable but I would wait for the new generation of graphics to make a bigger leap or get a better price.

        +1

        and also +1 to amd125

Better to wait for the new one and then get better prices, or if you sell the 460, stretch to get a new generation one.

If you're not going to abuse the graphics card exhaustively, stay with that 460 for now.

        Regards

But also the more I wait, the more I'll have to pay out. Now the new ones will come out and as always you pay for the novelty. And their predecessors depreciate more.
I'm not saying the gtx is going wrong, in fact, the other day I raised the clock to 820 for the first time and it seems like it gains some fluidity. But come on, if I'm already like this... in 3 months I won't be able to afford the new metro, just to give you an idea.
The idea is to put in 50€urillos (which will end up being 65-70) every so often to keep updating.
To all this, I commented earlier that with full hd I've noticed a bit of a slump. Before I played at 1280x1024
which, despite everything, is not 800x640 and when I put a better monitor and changed the resolution, I panicked. I thought it would be more than enough for a long time.
Besides, my wife is going to buy me the original bf3 (I think it's the first one) for Christmas and... I wanted to enjoy it fully and smoothly. Apparently the gain is only 10-15 fps at normal resolutions, then at x1200 it shoots up. Which makes me think that the TI would last me another year.
But like everything, it's better to be informed.

Also, it's worth noting that the next ones will probably come out from pcie 2.1 onwards. Probably 3.0 and I won't be able to take advantage of it. At least until I change the platform completely. And that the power supply keeps up. With the same connections, although now they ask for 8 pins.

With a 560Ti you can manage for BF3, but it is logical to wait a couple of months for the new releases and the drop in prices of the current ones.

And then there's what I was telling you, between whether they come out or not, the graphics will be worth €50 or less when it's time to get rid of them.

But that will happen equally, both with the 460 and with the new one you acquire, regardless of when you acquire it.
If you wait the relatively short time left for the release of the new graphics, the variation in the price of your second-hand graphics will not be very significant, however you look at it. If you rush now and buy a 560 or 560Ti by selling yours, in a few months you will find the same 560 or 560Ti presumably cheaper (no idea how much, but definitely cheaper) due to the launch of the new generation of graphics.
I think that for one thing or another, it is better to wait, even if it is until January…

Understood. And now I ask… and buy a graphics card like 430 or 520 for the physics? total as it will be 30-50€ maximum. What I don't know is if it's worth it or if it also requires a 6-pin power connector. Because as I said, the GTX eats both of them.

They were saying that Mafia 2 required a GTX 260, I say that there will be more demanding games with PhysX, you could dedicate the 460…

What graphics card do you have? (Specific model)

And why not the other way around? Dedicate a 520 or 430 solely and exclusively for physics. It's a Tacens Valeo 2, but it was urgent in the box, it says peak power 750. Total power 700. I suppose it will be at the end of 700.
Of all, I should put one that doesn't need separate power, because there are no more 12v sockets

                              http://www.anandtech.com/bench/GPU11/188

Take a look at how the graphics perform, because while we're at it, it's worth looking into getting a 460 GTX and doing an SLI. This SLI was very popular when the 460 GTXs came out because they performed better than a 480 GTX and were cheaper. They're also starting to sell 480 GTXs second-hand for around 200€ and it's still a great graphics card.

The problem is the gigabyte of memory, which might be a bit short for Full HD with some games on the 460 GTXs, but you'll have the same problem with the 560 GTXs unless you buy the new ones, which are almost as expensive as the 570 GTXs...

Anyway, if you're not doing well at Full HD, you can try lowering filters or qualities. I don't see much difference between the two graphics cards, there is a difference, but not enough to switch from one to the other.

Yes, I have that page and gpureview under control. They are only 10 fps more than what I can gain from my stock one.
I already commented on SLI, it involves me 60€ more in a power supply + the 2nd gtx 460. The truth is that I have looked at reviews and videos of this sli and it looks like a beast and fluid… but it involves me 150€ minimum.
That's why I was already rambling and asking, if with a sad gt 430 or 440 at most for physics I could lighten the fps volume a bit with the gtx 460 as the master, Battlefield 3 uses them and that's what I'm going to base it on. They are 35-40€ of investment and maybe I can free up some load on the 460

You need a graphics card with a power similar to a 260 GTX to use in physics, and the cheap graphics cards you mention do not perform as such.
