        @pestanin:

In the end I'm getting frustrated… If I'm not going to win in transfer I'd rather leave it plugged into the board. Besides, I don't have any USB 3.0 devices which would be another reason to get it. I don't know, I have doubts :nono:.

I've searched but I can't find graphics of transfer rates of SSDs connected this way. Do you know of any?

If you reread you'll see that rates do win, what happens is that since it's not a native controller you lose a little bit of performance in general. If you get frustrated that's fine but don't give up the SSD, after all, what's important is access.

So according to your page, this controller is not compatible with your motherboard:sadgirl:

Mmmmmmmm strange because if the PCIe is valid, there shouldn't be any problems, right?… Thanks for the info anyway.

Obione, I wouldn't give up the SSD in any way. It stays where it is, with or without the controller.

          Best regards.

rare or not is what asus says, that it won't work or that it won't have all the speed that remains to be seen, but that's what there is.
now you buy it, test it and you'll tell us :D:D:D

If you reread it you will see that the drives do win, the thing is that since it is not a native controller you lose a little bit of performance in general. If you overclock it's great but don't give up the SSD, after all the important thing is access.

Because it will lose performance, whether it's a native controller or not it goes through the same bus, there shouldn't be any differences. Connecting it to the 16X will give you perfect performance. Anyway it's a matter of running a test on the drive and you will quickly know if the controller is at maximum or not, if you see that the one you have in front with the SATA6 is limiting you.

It will be because of the controller because the one on the Lian-Li NAS performs better but the Asus one, which I think is Marvell, doesn't have the same performance as a native one, if anything, it has higher read rates.

Another reason to use the native one is TRIM.

It's not really about limiting myself (it goes as it should to go over a sata 3Gbps) but rather to make better use of the 6Gbps of the disk. In short…, there is no better proof than buying it and doing the relevant tests.

                  I'll be back :rollani:

                  Thanks to all.

                      ¡Clarinete!

Also I just asked Asus and they told me why, among other things, it's not compatible and it seems that my board does not support booting from PCIe so even though it might work for any other disk, I could hardly connect the SSD with the OS to the controller :rollani:

                      Thanks.

                      Best regards.

Man, there must be some way to cheat that problem, with a boot loader or something, but as you can see in the comparison, you're not going to notice any differences... so I think it's not worth it for you.

Fortunately here your opinion is not going to mass, and I hope not in any other site. Even so anyone would value more what the manufacturer (Asus) says than what any forum member says (whether it's you, me or anyone else).

I'm sorry you felt offended :nono: and I will try to make it up to you by always accepting your word and the manufacturer's word from now on :rollani:.

On the other hand, the response I have received from Asus is that the controller is compatible and works perfectly with USB 3.0 and would work without problems with any disk as long as it is not bootable, which is the function that the board lacks, and that is why it is not on the list of compatible ones, because it does not support all the functions that the controller does provide.

                                Best regards.
