Move to DDR3 a board that supports DDR2 and 3…..
-
The motherboard of your system only supports DDR2. -
Sorry, I have the box in front of me and I think I understand that, besides the person who sold it to me assured me that.
And I have 6 slots 4 ddr2 and two different, the motherboard is GA-p35c-ds3r, in the signature a C is missing, sorry. -
Your motherboard: http://es.gigabyte.com/products/page/mb/ga-p35c-ds3r_20Here you can see the memories it supports: Object reference not set to an instance of an object.
And it says where the DDR3: 2 x 1.5V DDR3 DIMM with support for a maximum of 4GB of system memory
So you can put a maximum of 4 Gigas. I don't think you can share DDR2 and DDR3 at the same time. Nii putting the DDR3 at the speed of the DDR2; but maybe some handyman is able to make them work at the same time, so I prefer not to get my feet wet.
Changing memory does not imply formatting. Nor changing the micro, source, case... even not changing the graphics, Sound... just delete the previous drivers well. Changing from one motherboard to another is advisable to format; but I have changed from an AMD 939 to an Intel Dual Core years ago without formatting, just plugging in the same hard drive and that's it.
-
That yes, of the rest if they are not going to be for oc the cheapest ones of the maximum speed that your board supports and if it can be with lower latencies. -
So what change had I thought, hahaha, since I can't increase the size, can you tell me if something will be gained with the change, or is it absurd as I fear.
Regards. -
It's not worth it, you'll buy DDR3 when you upgrade to a platform with an Intel Ivy Bridge, an AMD Piledriver, or something later.
-
DDR3 is cheap and will give you better performance, whether it pays off or not is up to you.
-
You can sell the DDR2 and buy DDR3 You will earn some euros. Apart from that, in terms of performance, you won't notice anything exaggerated. I would stick with what you already have until you change platforms in the future.
-
Well, seeing the little things you tell me, I almost stay as I am, since I also need a monitor…..
Decided, I save it and I'm going to look for monitors because things are very bad.
Thanks for the advice.
Regards.P.D. From here you will see me soon, asking questions as always, about monitors..
-
