Thanks guys. What worries me more than the noise is the "retumbe" issue. Won't there be something like a sensation of movement in the ceiling below? :wall:. Damn, I'm realizing that I'm talking as if I weigh 316 Kg and the house is going to fall... <:(. I suppose something like a carpet/mattress will dampen quite a bit.

I have a mountain bike (which I use to go to work and do some routes) and another static one to ride every day without putting up with crazy drivers and scared pedestrians ;D. I don't know Packo, now I've got it into my head that running is cooler :troll:.

      Best regards.

I run on the street. Before I used to go to a gym but running on a treadmill is very boring and the feeling is not the same. If you don't like running on the street I wouldn't buy a treadmill. Running on the street is more entertaining, you do different routes, you sometimes make training buddies, you change your pace, you see things without counting on the ladies you see training, what am I going to lie to you for - everyone looks for their motivations. :llorar:

On a treadmill you look at a wall and that's it. Even with a television in front of you it ends up being boring. And I know what I'm talking about, I ran my first half marathon a few months ago when I still went to the gym, and I was unable to do workouts on the treadmill for more than half an hour because of boredom, but then on the street at my own pace, changing circuits, with my mp3 with good music I could do runs of 21 km without getting bored.

If you still buy the treadmill, I would try to place a mat with Gel underneath it. The Gel cushions the impact very well, both in sports shoes like the Asics that I use, and in other items. Then it depends a lot on the construction of your floor. My uncle had a very well-built village house, he had the treadmill on the second floor and I tried the treadmill and I didn't notice much noise in the house or vibrations, my parents next door reading as if nothing ;D. The treadmill also influences. A moderately decent treadmill can cost around 800-1000€. The ones in gyms generally cost more.

In summary, think about it a lot because it's a big investment and it's not a very entertaining indoor activity.

Well, it's all about personal taste. On a bike, I prefer to go out into the countryside rather than stay still, but when it comes to running, I do better on the treadmill, and at least in my case, my joints suffer less. It's been a while since I've gone for a run or run on the treadmill, but at the gym I used to put on some Power Metal before the aerobics class and, believe me, I didn't wear a heart rate monitor because I was sure I would go over the limit; D.

As for the noise, I'm sure that if I put it in my house, the whole block would notice it, but due to the building's construction, which isn't very good and with very poor insulation, but maybe if you put some kind of foam board or something similar underneath, things would change.

For the "retumbe" the best thing is that you mount the tape on some tips, like the speakers xD.

In Decathlon (machinery section) they sell rubber modules that will come in handy for a treadmill but I am with Packo, better to have a bike at home.

Personal experience: do not try to save money, you will buy twice.
RUN away from those that have many rollers under the tape, they make more noise and are uncomfortable.
Go for a gym style model, it's worth it

About cushioning, in Decathlon they have rubber mats for "home gyms", buy a square, cut it into 4 and one under each leg

I, who does bike, recognize that it's much cooler on the street than at home but I don't get bored at all inside. I put on a series and I pedal those 40-45 minutes like a fool .

I didn't plan to spend more than 600 € and although I know that the good stuff starts a bit higher, there are some models recommended for amateur indoor running that look good. For example something like this:http://www.fitnessdigital.com/cinta-de-correr-bh-fitness-impulse–10001332-p.html?ct=11

                        Best regards.

man…. my neighbor had one in the room next to mine and when he started running, I could feel each of his footsteps on my floor. It vibrated quite a bit and that's with the building being of moderately good quality.

In today's apartments, I don't even want to imagine what it must feel like.

although, doing it at reasonable hours and with some music to 'cover it up' I don't think there would be any problems.

In my case, I don't think there would be much of a problem with the building since it's one of those solid as a rock ones from the 60-70s when Madrid was growing non-stop ¬¬.
I'm giving it some thought because it's a big deal to get into the hassle of money, size, space, etc… and then have the neighbor coming to bother me (rightfully so) but on the other hand, paying 40 bucks for a gym just to use the treadmill gives me the creeps and I still can't see it on the street...

I think all my doubts will be cleared when I tell my girlfriend about it :llorar:

                            Best regards.

I still think that you should go out for a run one day to see if the bug bites you. It bit me two years ago and I went from doing a 5 km race to already preparing for my second half marathon. There's nothing like running outdoors, believe me. I now go out if I can 3 days a week, and when I go for a run I do a minimum of an hour and if I have to do a long run I do about 2 hours if I can. Going out just to go out, going out for nothing, well for that I'd rather stay at home :ugly: And when I went to the gym if it rained a lot I did the treadmill, but if it rained a little I went out. Running in the rain gives an indescribable feeling especially in summer. In winter it's not as much fun because of the cold <:(

ei I think I think that what techno says is the simplest thing… I have 8 squares of these that fit together like a puzzle and like nothing.. no vibrations, but the noise can be heard (depending on the machine I imagine) but it's not a noise that would wake up the neighbors. Unless you start running at 4 in the morning ;D;D
