      hello.
this is my future (next week) configuration:
      Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.4Ghz Box Socket 1155
      Motherboard: Asus Maximus IV GENE-Z/GEN3
      RAM: G.Skill Ares DDR3 1600 PC3-12800 8GB 2x4GB CL9
      CPU Fan: Xigmatek Aegir SD128264
      Hard Drive: Seagate Barracuda 7200.14 1TB SATA3 64MB
      Case: Antec Mini P180 - doubt -
Power Supply: Thermaltake Toughpower Grand 650W Modular
Graphics Card: Sapphire Radeon HD 6870 1GB GDDR5
      DVD Burner: Sony Ad-7280s 24x
      Additional Fan: SilenX IXP-76-18 (iXtrema)

the doubt is about the case: regarding cooling to handle the equipment with future moderate OC which do you think will be better between these without going over dBA:

      • fractal arc mini
      • antec mini P180
      • silverstone TJ08-E
add that as you have seen I will accompany it with the additional 120mm fan that I mentioned before…

thanks in advance and sorry for the long post!

Hello, first of all, I must say that they are 3 very good cases, and I would directly opt for the sylverstone for its quality, better ventilation, and I think it has a very good distribution. Secondly, the antec is a case that I have assembled and despite its weight, which is very heavy, it is very well distributed. I would choose the fractal if I wanted something more economical, but it is also of great quality.
Also, keep in mind the heatsink, with the sylverstone I don't think you will have problems fitting that xigamtek, but if there are no very good options like the scythe suriken big that fits well and cools very well too.

to be honest with you right away: I rule out the fractal… I am swayed by the feeling of maximum cooling: I understand that I will need it). my biggest doubt is between the main candidates:

          • antec: aluminum + ventilation: 200 installed + 2x120 (1 of them installed)mm fans (+ rpm/dBA regulation). the power supply is on the lower level.
          • silverstone: aluminum + ventilation: 180mm installed + 1x120mm (not installed). the power supply is on top (it doesn't convince me although it is true that it is compartmentalized apart from the rest of the components isolating them from their heat).

          • I see a greater power of ventilation both in materials and in fans on the part of the antec... or am I wrong and am I missing some important detail that I should consider???
also the heatsink condition me a lot: the xigmatek is also a small whim, I think it's great what it brings and it would bother me not to be able to have it in the set.

THANKS Techno, for your attention and I will take your suggestion very much into account. goodbye!

The antec is a very good choice but it has little aluminum, it's almost all steel and weighs a quintal, I assure you, but I don't rule it out, personally I prefer the sylverstone, it appeals to me more because of the fresh air from the front and I took it out from behind and the power supply would also evacuate something from above.

The antec is a very good choice but it carries little aluminum, it's almost all steel and weighs a hundred pounds I assure you, but I don't rule it out, personally I prefer the sylverstone, it calls me more than fresh air through the front and I took it out from behind and the power supply would also evacuate something from above.

apart from the fact that the silverstone, being wider, would give me more room to implement a larger cooler isn't that true??? you're convincing me...

That's for sure, I've been scared with some of the antecs to put decent coolers in, I don't think that's the case with this one but for example in a p193 I saw and wished for them.

ok. however, when looking at the dimensions of each one of these I see this:

                  • antec: 210x435x436mm
                  • silverstone: 210x374x385mm
does antec offer more room, not for putting large components??? or could it be that by having more layers per wall of the case (so to speak) it adds more thickness in this and results in less width???

P.D.: sorry for being tedious but I want to attend to all the characteristics to better weigh the option

The panels of the antec as I say weigh a lot and it is because of their thickness, probably that is why it is wider, in any case if you are only going to put those components you will not have problems with any of them, and if you want to put something more mal formatted you have chosen.

                    Greetings.

my only concern is that between the heatsink in question, in any case, as a last resort, I would try to replace it with another of similar characteristics and smaller size... a matter of investigating.
for the rest, regarding the thickness of the antec case panels, what you say makes a lot of sense. so, I'm going for the silverstone, and I'm not looking any further hehe. the issue with this format you can already guess: lack of space.

without further ado, thank you very much. goodbye!

P.D.: the heatsink fits because silverstone anticipates a maximum allowed height for this of 165mm and the xigmatek fits in height 159mm
