[Tip] Motherboard for AMD FX-6100
-
good afternoon, gentlemen:
I'm helping a friend to build a PC that's good enough to play some martians, but I haven't been in the hardware world for a while and I've realized how outdated I am when I have the following doubt.
I humbly ask for your help, if possible, a ham sandwich.the doubt:
we have this processor
AMD FX Series FX-6100 3.3Ghz 6X FD6100WMGUSBX Processorand we need a motherboard. the problem is that I'm not sure if the sockets of the motherboards chosen for the final operation byte are compatible with the processor. I see amd3+, phenom, fx, and I'm not sure if all of them would accept the processor.
here are the finalists:ASRock M3N78D M3N78D Motherboard this one is the most appealing to us because of the price, mhz of ram and chipset
Gigabyte GA-970A-UD3 AM3+ GA-970A-UD3 Motherboard
ASRock 960GM-GS3 FX 90-MXGKF0-A0UAYZ Motherboard
Gigabyte M68MT-D3P GA-M68MT-D3P Motherboard
and this is my boring story. thanks for reading me whether you have something to say or not.

What a hodgepodge of motherboards
You put a list with motherboards: ATX, mATX, with graphics, without them, cheap, expensive... So who knows what you're looking for. I would recommend that you look for a motherboard with USB3 and SATA3 included... you'll see that the list is reduced, then you rule out if you need integrated graphics or not (something basic) and practically you will have a couple of chipsets to choose from, more expensive or cheaper; finally you just have to choose the brand you like the most and the color of the paint ;D -
thanks, but if I do it this way in the end I will make a mistake…............. so I am going to reformulate the question by going to binary
can this processor
AMD FX Series FX-6100 3.3Ghz 6X FD6100WMGUSBX Processorbe placed in this motherboard?
ASRock M3N78D M3N78D Motherboardif it can be plugged in, it is already solved because the graphics, the ram, the power supply and other things adapt perfectly to the motherboard.
thank you very much

Model and family do not appear in the list of supported CPUs, although by socket and by power there should be no problem. I do not know if something is escaping me.
Greetings

Yes, it's a bit cheap, but it seems to work. Although a 770 one that I had a couple of years ago also works, meaning you don't need much. I repeat that it would be interesting for you to look for a current motherboard and not something from the flea market, for example, the Giga UD3 is already something else.

many thanks to all. I will start looking following your advice. thanks for saving my and my colleague's butts
