Obione has more reason than a saint (although he is not one)

At the moment the LGA2011 platform has a very defined use, as the colleague has already said.

If you put a decent motherboard like GA-P67A-UD4 B3= 129€
The 2500K =210€ along with the Scythe Yasya=34€
Graphics card according to your tastes:
Asus Radeon HD 7850 DirectCU II 2GB =251€
Asus GeForce GTX 560 Ti DirectCU II TOP 2GB = 248€

And you have a team ready to give it a go at OC and play comfortably for a while.

      Best regards

At least in the topic of Placa+micro you are covered for a few good years. The graphics, as you know, are like this: to play with everything at full capacity, you need new graphics every 2 years at most.

          Best regards

I'm going to pull out the crystal ball...

Nemo, you've had a quick look at pcc and you've confused the 2550K with the 2500K.

It almost happened to me before :ugly

            It's 182 bucks for the 2500K ?

The 25€ cooler you were referring to is the 412S (27€ in reality). If you want a good OC and it comes out to be expensive it will fall short. If you can stretch it to the Yasya, better, it all depends on the OC you're looking for. In any case, at most a Thermalright Silver Arrow

I think you should make the effort on the GPU to get to the 7870. If you don't want multiGPU, like if you have to go for the 412S and an ASRock P67 Pro3.

                      Hello,
I'm new to this forum, and I'm also about to buy a new computer.

Since you're here, I would wait 10 more days for the Ivy Bridge to come out (the i5-3570K seems like a good bet and should cost more or less the same as a 2500k or 2550k, performing a little better and consuming a little less).

A question for the forum members, is it really worth buying the Asus 7850 with OC for 41€ more than the Sapphire at stock? (yes, I'm Catalan ? ).

The Z77 motherboards are also about to be released (in fact, some can already be bought) and some reviews leave the Gigabyte Z77X-UD3H quite good for OC - we have to see the price and availability in Spain (and surely there are many more options).

If you don't need it in two weeks, I would wait.

When you buy, tell us how it goes ?

                      Regards
