      Hello,
I hope I can explain myself to find a solution. I have searched and searched the internet and I can't find what might be happening with my hard drive.
One day I turned off my PC as usual and the next time I went to turn it on... when it's loading and the
Windows logo comes up, it gets stuck there and doesn't advance.Si If I start from the Windows CD it doesn't load either (this only happens with this hard drive, everything is fine with the other one). I should mention that the BIOS detects it. I connect another drive I have and once in Windows I plug in the other drive hot, I get the message that a new device has been detected
and it's looking for a driver but it takes a very long time and finally says that it couldn't be installed.
The drive is a SATA Barracuda 500GB.

      Regards.

        Hello and welcome

The diagnosis is that the drive is damaged and if it starts by having trouble detecting it, that's bad news…
Can you boot the system with the other drive as master and the problematic one as slave, both together? If so, start saving information...
If the BIOS detects it, try booting from CD with a program like Hiren's Boot, and run an HDD regenerator or try to format with any other, Partition Magic for example.
If it's under warranty, you can think about processing an RMA...

        Best regards

          Welcome to the forum.

Pass the CristalDiskinfo to see if it marks it as at risk. or what.
According to my interpretation, it is a data disk, not a system one, right?
          Best regards.

Hello, thank you for responding. Well, I downloaded Trinity Rescue Kit. And without having a clue, I started to tinker with everything,
and in the end I was able to format the disk and now it works perfectly.

            Best regards.

Listen to the partner and download and use the program "Crystal Disk Info" to quickly see how the disk is (there are more accurate methods but they take longer). Especially because over time you can trust that disk, save important things on it and it is damaged. It is not very pleasant for a disk to fail when you least expect it xD.

Hello, I have passed the program to you. The disk that was not working and that I managed to format is now good and it is where I have the S.O.
But the one I had before, which I now have as a storage disk, shows up in riesgo. No I understand that
I was not familiar with this program.

                Regards.

                  @Isaia:

Hi, I have passed the program to you. The disk that wasn't working and that I managed to format is good and that's where I have the OS.
But the one that I had before and that I now have as a storage disk shows up in riesgo. No I don't understand what
it means I didn't know about this program.

                  Regards.

Well, as you can guess, it means that you can't trust that disk at all, when you least expect it, it crashes and you lose the data it contains. So you should think about buying another one to store important data and in this one put things that, in case of disaster, don't imply a big loss.

The failure can come tomorrow or in three years, but the disk is damaged.

                  Regards
