Bill Gates' long hands?

hello everyone, so that's it ¿are the long hands of Bill Gates the ones that have induced the guys at DICE so that the next games that use their Frostibe 2.0 engine need a 64-bit OS? maybe yes or maybe not. what is clear is that it's just another way of not having to optimize games too much ¿why? because it's clear that the one who has a 64-bit OS has a "more or less" current micro and at least 4 gigs of ram.

I very much doubt that a computer with a mere 32-bit micro could run Frotsbite 2 even at the minimum of details, not only because of the micro itself (which is also a factor) but because those PCs don't even have PCI Express to mount a decent graphics card.

As for the OS, it doesn't seem unreasonable to me. Anyone who uses the PC to play new games has at least 4 Gb of RAM for which 64 bits are needed.

And to finish, Bill hasn't been CEO of Microsoft for a long time.

about the O.S …. I've only found this and it's from STEAM but even though many people use a 64 O.S, it's also true that 64 O.S came out a few years ago, and nobody thought to say that for "SOME" games to work they would need a 64 O.S. I wonder ;D

Moreover, even the most normal laptops already have at least 4 GB with the corresponding 64-bit system. Surely at this moment half of the people who have just bought a computer do not even know that they are already using a 64-bit system.

It is a logical evolution... like when they stopped supplying regular gasoline and only left the Super... do you remember? :ugly:

@Nemo, the super was from the era of leaded gasoline but with higher octane than the normal, 97 says wikipedia, and now it can't be done… but you still have the 95 and the 98 which I don't know who will buy, at the price they sell it, it's better to put nitrous oxide in it, or maybe they need another cool name for the 98 :chuckles:

That also happens with diesel, you have the normal and the ecopowerboost or whatever each gas station calls it. It seems silly but you can feel the extra power just like with gasoline, although some say it's too dry for engine maintenance?

@Nemo, lo de la súper era de la epoca de la gasolina con plomo pero con más octanaje que la normal, 97 dice la wikipedia, y ahora no se puede… pero sigues teniendo la 95 y la 98 que no se quien comprará, al precio que la venden es mejor meterle oxido nitroso, o quizás es que necesitan otro nombre molón para la 98 :risitas:

Eso pasa también con el diesel tienes el normal y el ecopowerboost o como le llame cada gasolinera. Que parece tontería pero se nota el extra de potencia igual que en la gasolina, aunque hay quien dice que es demasiado seca para el mantenimiento del motor ¿?.

I am about to make a survey about the OS we use (for gaming and other things) but a certain question would touch on the legality of the forum :facepalm: point 3.2 of the forum rules :wall:
I don't know …. how to phrase it (which OS do you use? is it legal or.....)

Nah, tengo 7 32 bits, cambie hace pocos meses desde un XP. Me da pereza instalar el de 64 bits en un portatil con core 2 duo, no le voy a sacar partido cuando la placa base no me admite mas de 4 gigas.

Be quiet, I spent over 100 bucks on the sound card and I don't have 64-bit support :wall:
