NVIDIA prepares the launch of its GTX660
-
With the imminent arrival of the new GTX660, NVIDIA has just given the final blow to the GTX550 and GTX560 models to make way for their GTX6xx versions.
The bargain hunters have all summer to try to get hold of one of these graphics cards that already have the EOL (End Of Life) stamp from NVIDIA.
The first clues indicate that the new GTX660 will not be too inferior in performance to its sister GTX670, and with an adequate price positioning, it could mortally wound the sales of ATi/AMD.

Let's see what nVidia has in store with the new mid-range lineup. If it turns out that a GTX 660 can deliver performance only slightly inferior to the GTX670, ATI will be forced to lower the prices of the HD7850 and HD7870, which I think are overpriced.

I want the remaining 69xx to plummet... it will be the incentive needed for me to get one for the new team

No matter how well they perform, the GTXs are overpriced.
I don't think it will affect the 7850 much, it should go down a bit but not because of Nvidia's threat but because they are pulling the wool over our eyes with these prices.

According to the Turks from donanimhaber.com, by the end of September comes out what seems to be a rehash of the GTX550Ti with few improvements.
Its name: GTX650 (GK107@28nm) ¬¬

From what I'm reading, the GTX 660Ti is expected to perform similarly to the GTX 580, although I suppose there will be nuances, I don't know.
What is mentioned a bit is that the price will range from 300€ to 350€, possibly the most expensive ones will be the typical super-tuned models with OC to the hilt.Anyway, it seems that on the 14th they will come out... I'm considering the option of one of these, or a GTX580, but well, everything will work out :ugly:
Greetings!!

Interesting model, I'll go with another 570 I think it's not worth it for me to jump to the 6xx series after this SLI, so I'd jump to the 7xx if they were called that, so then it would interest me but who knows why I get some weird deer sometimes, I don't know why AMD doesn't convince me much and look I've had ATI to the hilt. -
Well, the 7870, at least yesterday, was tempting at 240 and something euros at Coolmod. Nvidia is really pushing the prices, even for the 500 series.
Editing: The Gigabyte 670 OC at 383€ on Amazon.es, things are starting to look good there, it seemed like there were only deals with ATI.

Hello, I just saw a spam from pccom and they have the lagigabyte gtx660 ti oc at 319€, I think it's expensive for a model like that, how do you see it? I think 270 would be an acceptable price right now with the release.

So they are already in stores, let's see who is the first to buy and verify :ugly:
-
I've seen it in person, I've looked at a review and it's very close to the 7870, which was at Coolmod for 240 and something euros :ugly:
-
Indeed, the performance is very similar to an HD7870, and the key word in all this is: wait and calm :sisi:
AMD has already adjusted its prices before the launch, even released a BIOS to optimize the first HD7950, so if nVIDIA fails in sales, we might see a price war, very but very interesting :troll:

These days I had a Zotac GTX580 for 289€ which I think is more appealing, I don't know, for being a mid-range model I think it's expensive even being new.
-
The gtx 660 is already on sale at pcc and at cooldmod, for about 320€ if I remember correctly.
What I see is that from September 1, despite the prices going down… the VAT will go up!! FUCK!!
