Until a few days ago I enjoyed my graphics. But… everything has its duration and it said enough.
XFX Geforce 6600GT 246 MB DDR3 Zalman Fansink
      Microsoft® DirectX® 9.0 SM 3.0
      PCI Express graphics bus
      128-bit memory interface
GDDR3 and DDR 256 MB memory
      NV43 Core Type
      Core (Mhz) 500
      Memory (Mhz) 900/1000
      Pipeline Config. 8
      Vortex Processors 3
      0.11 μ manufacturing process

      –------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I have been thinking about an equivalent in performance and price to the one I spent on at the time.
I want to stay true to the assembler or manufacturer Geforce and I have set my sights on a
      NVIDIA GeForce GT 630
      GPU specifications
      CUDA Cores 192
      Graphics clock 875
      Processor clock (Mhz) 875
      Texture fill rate 14
      Memory frequency (Mhz) 891
      Memory amount 1GB / 2GB
      128-bit DDR3 memory interface
      Max bandwidth 28.5
      Direct 11
      OpenGL 4.2
      PCI-E 3.0 bus support
      Height 2.731 Inches
      Length 5.7 Inches
      Width One slot
      Power and temperature
      Maximum temperature 102C
      Consumption 50W

      –--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I would also like an opinion regarding the brand, which one?
PNY, Asus, Club3D, Gigabyte, EVGA, Zotac, Point of View, Palit, etc
      Better 1024 or 2048 MB?
It would be for playing at a medium level a few hours a day with online games at the same level as the previous graphics, watching movies and little more. I am looking for performance similar to a reasonable price although quality is always above and that is why the choice of the brand and memory 1 or 2 GB makes me doubt
      Do the Radeons work? in:
      Intel Pentium 4 630 3.0Ghz
      Intel D915GAV motherboard
      Memory 2.0 Ghz (400)
      HD 500 GB
      Power supply 500W
      XP Professional 32 bits

      –-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

You have a very outdated computer, apart from the fact that the P4s were a disaster. If you play modest games, then okay, change to something cheap, but if you're looking for some performance, the best thing is to put money in the piggy bank.

Don't marry Nvidia if you only want it for gaming, even less so in lower ranges.

Does saying enough mean it has broken down?

Hello, if it has failed, as you say, and as Obione tells you, the best thing you can do is to invest in, for example, an ATI 6450 (Not much more, because the bottleneck will be clear). You can save money and get an Athlon X2 260 or an X3 450 that are good now and an mATX motherboard, and it will probably perform better than the old 6600GT (or at least it will be close to it). And then invest in an HD6670 or a GT630 like the one you mentioned. And you will notice a more than acceptable performance, and efficient from the one you have now.

            I completely agree with hAyO

That CPU would bottleneck that graphics card. I, in your place, would look to save a little to change your platform.

A simple, but decent computer without having to spend much of your pocket if you prefer Intel would be the next if you are going to take advantage of the drives.

            CPU: i3 2100 = 100 € approx.
            Motherboard: Gigabyte H61 mATX = 45 € approx.
            Kingston 4 GB DDR3 1333 MHz RAM = 40 € approx.

And then you put the GT 630 or the HD 6670

            Best regards.

              Thank you for your responses
Efectivamante, the card said enough and stopped working. At first glance, some capacitors (or whatever they are called) are swollen and burst from the top
I am worried about the bottleneck. Something like that was told to me at the time with the previous graphics card and I have not noticed until now that it was bad. Would this other one really be worse in performance?
I have even been recommended that I upgrade a step and go for a 550Ti, wouldn't it be an even narrower bottleneck with this model?
Because if it is excessive for the equipment I have.. then look for another one and be done.
I am not going to change the equipment unless it is strictly necessary and given the use I give it is more than satisfactory because my needs are covered.
I am making the consultation because I like to be advised by experienced people, and I know that I find them here
I have even thought about looking for an identical or similar card, who knows if there are any.
Geforce 8800 GTS PCI EXPRESS 320Mb DDR3 320 bits (brand new only tested 50€)

If the capacitors are swollen it means it has died.
I am with the companions, there is no better option than a cheap upgrade, which will already last you a while and you can overclock most medium/high performance cards… but if you refuse outright to change the equipment then, either you look for a second-hand one, or you cling to an HD 6450 or similar. It is ATI, it is not a good idea to put a modern nVidia in your equipment, because you do not have a CPU that is powerful enough, and since ATIs pull less CPU than nVidias, in your case it is an extra help.

You'll have to forgive me but that ATI model is very, very inferior to what I had
Maybe the HD 6570 would fit better?

The HD6450 is similar, in addition to being more optimized for HD performance, I leave you some links:

It is even more powerful, very normal since we are talking about the 6600GT being mid-range from 7 generations ago!! And technology is advancing, yielding more for less power, etc..

Look, the 8500GT is already superior to yours:

EDIT: In reality the frequencies are lower although it has a better voting ratio. However, the comparison that hAyO posted earlier is worth more.

In the following link I leave you a more conclusive comparison between the 8500GT and the HD6450:
