It's already ordered... about 560 in total, I'll try the ssd later... as always thanks to everyone, I'll tell you my first impressions of course.... it's a lot of money but considering what I got for the 2 computers and a mobile (280 in total) I think the upgrade came out well... I'm even excited!!!

I am very happy for your purchase, I am sure you will enjoy it a lot. In addition, the investment you have made, minus what you have taken out, is great considering that you have put together a fantastic gamer team.

I hope you enjoy it, I assure you that you will notice the difference a lot. And about the SSD, be patient, because I am sure that if you wait to save a little for less than €100 you will get one that is super great and it will be another of those things that I assure you is noticeable in everyday life.
I have had my SSD for almost 2 years and it cost me about €180, and it does not have the performance of the new Sata 3, but even so it works super well.
You do not realize it until you use a PC with a mechanical disk again and then you see the enormous difference in many everyday things: starting the PC, restarting, putting it to sleep, copying files, using somewhat heavy applications, etc.
That said, the games will not go faster :ugly: but they can load faster.

              Anyway, that's it... enjoy it!!!

Thank you very much for your comments, and yes, I will keep looking to see if I can get one of those soon, I also have a NAS in mind (I have looked at some Synology ones) and a 3 TB hard drive... as you know, this is a bottomless pit... but for now, I already have my new girl!! Jejejejeje

If you want to switch to an SSD later, make a 100GB partition for the System and install it under AHCI, so you will find it easier to dump the image.

Good evening!!!!! Transmitting from the new computer…what a machine!!!!!
This afternoon I picked up the motherboard and assembled it, installed w7 and the only game I've been able to test is battlefield 3...I think it's one of the most demanding, right? well everything on ultra to everything that the monitor gives...and it runs like a tiger!!!
I don't know much about benmarks or whatever they're called..but if someone tells me a program I'll run it and tell you the results.
Once again, I would like to thank you for your help, these first moments of amazement are thanks to you!!!!

Congratulations, +1 to the signature thing, and about benchmarks, run the 3DMark for the graphics, the superPI and a Linx to see how it turns out, here you have the main tests set:

Well they work well!!! It is one of the advantages of buying quality components. For this reason I have not bothered to renew the power supply and case, and I have only been able to invest in the rest of the components. It is true that sometimes it is worth spending a little more…
Thanks to everyone!! Now to get stuck into the vice!!!
Initially I have installed win7..does anyone recommend 8 or is it too green?

                                    Good morning!!

I am reviving this old post that you all helped me so much with for another upgrade evaluation, this time for a family member.

He currently has a gigabyte P35-DS3L (Rev. 2) motherboard with a C2D E6750 with socket 775. 2x1 GB DDR2 PC2-6400. The graphics card is an ATI HD5850 (you recommended this graphics card back in 2010!!).

Recently he told me that he was running low on RAM, so I looked around, but a pack of 2x2 DDR2 a bit faster costs 67 €, and I also recommended he get an SSD to speed up the OS access (currently XP).

He then asked me if it was worth upgrading the computer, and there I was caught off guard again. He even mentioned some computers from the MM. To which I refused outright, since he could reuse many components from his current system, and those who told me suggested an i5-4440S or i3-3240 and a Gforce 625 for 600-500 €.

The truth is that he is a guy who goes from office to world of tanks or similar, strategy games that make computers sweat, he also likes COD and BF

I see that if he upgraded to DDR3 memory, it would cost him half as much, but we would have to look into the processor and motherboard issue.

I looked at the components you recommended to me at the time and I am surprised that the prices have barely changed... even the processor is more expensive!! (166.91 € to 175 €).

Do you see a similar upgrade to my system as viable? We get a more basic motherboard and keep an i5-3570 and 2x4 DDR3 1600? The 5850 can hold up for at least another year or do you recommend a change?

                                    Option 1 (Improve current system):

                                    • SSD 75 € (reusable for future upgrades)
                                    • HD 1 TB 50 € (reusable for future upgrades)
                                    • DDR2 2x2 GB 67 € (not reusable)
                                      TOTAL: approximately 200 €

                                    Option 2 (upgrade):

                                    • SSD 75 € (reusable for future upgrades)
                                    • HD 1 TB 50 € (reusable for future upgrades)
                                    • PB let's say 50-75 € +/-
                                    • Processor 150-175 € +/-
                                    • DDR3 2x4 GB 69 €
                                      TOTAL: approximately 444 €

In both cases, the graphics card would be kept, and the investment is double.

As always, a thousand thanks for your advice.

Leave the SSD for later, it's the icing on a good team or a good boost for office work and tasks that don't require as much computing power but, if you want to play BF etc get an i5, better a Haswell 4570 with an H87 Pro4, then if you get tired of it in a few years it will be more likely to find a replacement for 1150 than for 1155. You will need a heatsink, a Hyper 212 EVO or even a Raijintek even cheaper will do, 2x4GB 1600MHz economical RAM and if it's not enough for a GPU stretch the 5850 until you can change, you will also notice it quite a lot.

No, absolutely nothing happens by getting an Ivy, especially if you get a motherboard like yours or a Z75 Pro3 to overclock the 400MHz of the turbo to a 3470. Let's say that each generation pulls like they have 150MHz extra and would have a little more performance with the OC via turbo that isn't in the Haswells; or you could save 10€ with a cheaper B75 Pro3. I say this mainly in case the motherboard blows up sometime in the future but don't get too worked up, it's not like we're talking about 1155 motherboards disappearing much sooner or big leaps in performance, it's all up in the air.

What I wouldn't do is go for the SSD, if you want to play something that's a hog the first thing is the graphics card.

Ahh ok ok, well I'll get the same motherboard and processor as you have, which I know will have luxury performance. I'm mainly interested in what you said about overclocking the 400 Mhz of the 3470...is it worth it? I don't have them overclocked, but it's true that this is with the stock cooler. Although I'll take advantage of the order and get one...how about the Cooler Master Hyper TX3 EVO?

The thing about the graphics card is that it bothers me, since spending 200 € and having to change it in 2 years...for now he's happy with World of Tanks so let's wait...I'll try the latest COD or BF with acceptable settings and then see...

Once again, thank you very much Obione for your comments.
