      Hello everyone,

I am pleased to share with all of you a video review that I have been working on for several days. It has taken quite a bit of work, but I believe it is worth it.

It all started because for the past few weeks I have been recommending the Be quiet Efficient Power F1 power supplies in various forums, and I finally bought one to replace the OCZ I had, hoping that the Be quiet would live up to what I consider a silent power supply.

This Be Quiet has turned out to be a great purchase for just over 50€ (mine is the 400w version, there is another 500w for almost 70 euros).

I took great care in the recording environment, using a quality microphone connected to a mini-disc recorder, and I did the whole process with the utmost care. The only thing that bothered me a bit is that once I made the recordings that are **MINE** in digital format with the mini-disc, it was not possible to transfer them to the PC, I had to record them analogically from the mini-disc to the PC, with the small loss that this can imply (This is something you should "thank" Sony for, who makes it impossible to transfer the recordings directly, because they assume you are trying to pirate something). I will take this very much into account in my purchases from now on, to avoid buying this brand if possible.

Well, without further ado, I will tell you that in the tests I include a recording of each power supply, as well as a comparison at the end, and also consumption data at idle (with Windows on the desktop doing nothing) and at full (with the OCCT power supply torture test, and I noted the consumption when the program is at maximum).

I must say that one of the power supplies died in the process, theoretically it was 450w but when it reached 360 it couldn't take it anymore and turned off forever. With this you can clearly see that 450w are not the same watts in a good power supply as in a generic one, because the be quiet that I have now installed and working wonderfully is "only" 400w. In another I note the data of 440w, but perhaps it would have gone up a bit more, but it started to smell burnt and I stopped the test a little before it reached where it usually is the maximum consumption point.

If in the video you use half-decent headphones, you connect them to the rear jack (the front one usually introduces some noise) and set the volume appropriately, you will be able to hear even the "click click" of the Enermax Modu 87+ power supply, although if I have to tell you in practice, and in a real environment, the enermax is inaudible, and the be quiet is almost inaudible (it could only be heard if you were very close and in an environment with a lot of silence). The OCZ of course is heard, in fact I bought the be quiet because I was NOT happy with the OCZ.

For me, who considers myself someone demanding in these matters, for better or for worse, the be-quiet meets excellently, and also at a very good price, but beware, it is this Be quiet, the F1 Efficient Power, not long ago I mounted another, a Be-Quiet Pure Power L7 430W and it greatly disappointed me, because it sounded louder than the OCZ in the video.

I regret not having a wider range of power supplies to include in the review, I would have liked to have included a Nox Urano for example, which are cheap and not bad (they sound less than generics, but more than the OCZ). If in the future I have the opportunity to include other power supplies, I will do so and update the video.

As I say in the video, buying a power supply is complicated, because except for clear exceptions like Enermax or Seasonic, it is impossible to have a guarantee that the power supply will be silent, as I say, currently there are Be Quiet really excellent like the one in the video, and others that are not worth it at all as I said before. I can also tell you that a few years ago Corsair in quality/price power supplies was a marvel with the VX and HX ranges, but now they sell the CX which are, in my opinion, a VERY BAD purchase, I have even read complaints from people with current high-end Corsairs.

The secret of power supplies is neither more nor less than that there are 3 or 4 good power supply manufacturers (as far as I know), which are Enermax, Seasonic, FSP (and some of FSP's are even regular) and I think... little more.... so the trick is to buy a power supply sold by a third party, which really does is buy it from one of the "big ones" and sell it with their name. Obviously, Pepito Power can sell great power supplies today that are actually rebadged Seasonics, and tomorrow, when he has already made a name for himself, renew his range of power supplies and sell power supplies much inferior at the same price that he sold the good ones.

Without further ado, I leave you the video, watch it with headphones connected to the back, and in HD, if you put the non-HD version the sound loses too much quality and it is not appreciated:

As I say, if I have the opportunity I will include more power supplies, and of course, if someone wants to gift me one for the project, I promise to include it xD

      Greetings to all

          Thanks for the contribution …

Let's see if people realize why it's good to spend money on certain parts ?

I have a Cooler Master of 700W that is almost completely silent... I have the PC in the living room and my wife doesn't complain, which is a guarantee of silence ?

              Great Tassadar as always. ;D

Thank you very much for the work and the contribution.
In these parts there is also a post where the different brands that market them and who really manufactures them are listed. These are always data to keep in mind.

              Thank you very much.

              Best regards.
