Hello everyone, first of all, I have an Intel dx58sO motherboard. Yesterday afternoon I was using it, I was playing Far Cry 3, well, I got tired of playing, I exited the game, I wanted to listen to music, I connected the headphones on the front of the CPU, and poof, the computer turned off :wall: From there, it hasn't turned on anymore, which has really frustrated me because yesterday I tried to fix it...

1- I don't smell anything burnt to say that it could be a specific component
2- I tested my power supply to see if it was working and everything came out fine until then, super fine
3- Now the motherboard has a small internal light that indicates it is receiving power and that light TURNS ON if it turns on but doesn't start or boot when I try to turn it on

I have already tried BIOS reset, removing the battery to see if that was the problem, I have also tried other memories but with no better result.

Honestly, I don't know what to do and the only thing that comes to mind is to test my power supply on another motherboard to see if it works, so in the end, it's my motherboard that's dead, but the strange thing about the whole case is that the motherboard light turns on and as it's supposed to, it doesn't work.

I've googled around and found a person who had the same problem and their solution was that the motherboard was defective and they sent it back to the factory and they replaced it, but however, my case is very different, one because I bought it over a year and a half ago and I don't think they will replace it and that's why I'm here to see if you can help me.

I don't know if the motherboard has some kind of power reset or something to be able to test it... someone help me???:wall::wall::wall::wall::wall:

I have attached an image so you can see that if you turn on the light on the motherboard, it is next to the cooler as shown in the image.

it doesn't beep so it's still in the state where the board turns on its light but doesn't turn on anything.. I've already removed the memories and nothing happens, it's still the same

Do you have the buzzer mounted, or in other words, did it beep before?
Unplug everything, leave only the micro graphics and memos if it doesn't beep, removing the memos can only be the F.A or the M.B. Do you have another F.A to test?

Disconnect the power supply and test it in basic, with nothing connected, no disks, no memory… just the motherboard and the micro, reconnect the power supply only and try to turn it on.

                    Regards

No, to be honest it has never beeped, unfortunately I don't have another power supply, I'll see what to do, I really appreciate your help

The case is definitely closed, it's the motherboard.

I went to a friend's house and we took my CPU and tested it together, first we tried his power supply with my PC and it wouldn't turn on, then to be sure we tried my power supply with his PC and it worked fine.

In conclusion, from what I understand, what happened was a short circuit. I should mention that if I remember correctly, I said that all this mess was because when I had connected the headset to the front of the CPU, it turned off and from there it didn't work anymore. Well, what really happened was that the HDMI audio input of the CPU I had connected it to another part of the motherboard where it shouldn't have been and I think that's why when I connected the headset while the machine was running, it turned off, generating some kind of cut in the Motherboard.

Anyway, I thank all of you for the help provided. Regards.

                          bad luck.
when you buy the new motherboard check carefully how you put the cables
                          regards
