Kingston Hyperx Beast and ASUS p8z77-v pro thunderbolt
-
Hello everyone!
I have tried several times to get the memory to work at 2400 Mhz but there is no way. The motherboard comes with a couple of XMP profiles and I have tried them, but they do not work. It always says "Overclocking failed".
Does anyone have this RAM/Motherboard configuration with the memory working at 2400?
Best regards.

Have you tried setting it up manually? It's not much work and you might get better results.

What voltage are you using?

Yes, I've tried, but the truth is that I'm new to this "Overclocking" thing. I thought that by tweaking the memory, it would run at the speed marked by the manufacturer, but that's not the case, and I'm not very clear about the latencies and stuff…
What voltage are you using?
Hmmm, I don't know, the one that comes "by default", I suppose… Which one should I use?
Best regards.

You must set the voltage they specify, I don't know what it will be, look it up. Continuing with specifications, I'll give you the 4 classics and another possible nomenclature:
CAS = CL
RAS to CAS = tRCD
RAS = tRPYou have tRAS left.
It's not worth it for you to get into secondary parameters, the impact on performance is too low to start touching so many values.

HyperX Beast - DDR3 2400MHz CL11 DIMM
Specs: DDR3, 2400MHz, CL11, 1.65V, Unbuffered, Spec Sheet PDF
Profile 1: 2400MHz, 11-13-13, 1.65V
Profile 2: 2133MHz, 11-13-13, 1.6Vit's clear that if you don't set them to 1.65v you can't set them to 2400MHz
this is stated on the Kingston pageregards

Ok, I'll try with "Profile 1", that is: 11-13-13, 1.65V. Then I'll tell you...
Best regards.
