      Hello

What will you use the computer for? Because what you're trying to build is not for gaming or HD video, for example.
Is the DVD drive IDE? Because the motherboard you're putting in doesn't have IDE ports, like most new ones.
If the power supply has been out of warranty for a long time, I wouldn't trust it too much, although a Seasonic isn't bad a priori, but it's always better to put in a new, quality one with a good warranty to preserve the new components.

I would build an i5 3570, with an ASRock Z77M, I would keep those memories you've chosen or even put some Kingston ones that are cheaper, the performance without overclocking is almost the same, I would put a cooler that's a bit better than the stock one to take care of the processor (this one is already pretty heavy-duty: Scythe Katana 4 SCKTN-4000 Fan/Cooler) and a Thermaltake LitePower 700W power supply that's on sale right now. Later on, you would invest in a powerful graphics card, for example a 7850 or try to stretch to a 7870, and also look for an SSD for the system. With that, you would have a high-performance computer for everything you want.

      Best regards

If you are thinking of building a cheap system without many pretensions, you could look at a 750K (FM2). If you are building an Athlon/Phenom II with a view to upgrading, it would be with a 970 board to have full support with the FX. Even a nice board would be good, but of course, a 970A-UD3 for example is almost half the budget.

Another option is to look at a G870 with a B75 board like the ASRock Pro3 for example, you would also have the possibility of upgrading. Maybe the FX are more long-lived but for now an i5 is one of the best options for gaming.

Thinking in the short term, the 750K and a 7770 soon seem to me the best option.

I have the play3 so I don't use it much for gaming, in fact I'm only interested in it working for World of Tanks and right now in medium quality it goes to 30fps, so I think the new configuration will be better.
I already know there are better cards, better processors, i5, i7 but I don't have much budget. My idea was to put together something new with 200 euros.La The power supply is about 3 years old, so I don't think I need to change it. The disks and readers are all SATA.

            How are these cards?

            Asrock 970 Extreme4 AM3+ 90-MXGIP0-A0UAYZ Placa Base

I think the gigabyte would be better because it has the 990 chip, right?

What do you think about the asrock brand?

Is the Athlon II X4 better than the Phenom II X4 (the 2 with 3.4Ghz)?

What are you going to use it for? If it's for office work, you can get a computer for 4 euros. What I don't see as logical is buying a Seasonic of 700W that costs you as much as the entire platform, I suppose it was just in case.

ASRock has good motherboards but for the 965 I would stick with the Giabyte that I told you about, more than one Extreme4 has had its sound card fail. The Phenom is a bit better but at this price I would stick with the Athlon:

Office software, university (some program that consumes a lot like Matlab or Quartus), and World of tanks.
The source was a very good deal and I took advantage of it.

What I want is a simple computer but if at some point I ask for something more, I can get it without any problems without spending a lot of money, go up a step in performance and update parts that are already 6 years old.

                How about this configuration?

Thanks for your comments, they are helping me.

What do you think about AMD's bulldozers?
At the same frequency level (3.6Ghz) which would you choose, an A-series, an Athlon or a Phenom?

I suppose the new A-series are more efficient in consumption, but considering that I am not going to use the integrated graphics I am not sure if it interests me. (Some are 45nm and others 32nm which is not that much difference).

What I have seen is that the FM2 motherboards are cheaper and somewhat more complete, any ideas?

For price/performance I think a Phenom is better for you, although you can always look at comparisons. If you buy a decent cooler and overclock the Phenom you can easily match the performance of an A series.

                        Regards

I've been reading comparisons between the Phenom, Athlon and Fx.Me and I opted for the Phenom as it's slightly superior to the Athlon. The Fx is more modern and probably better but if I'm going to use programs that only use one core (mononuclear) I've read that the Phenom is better than the Fx. The processor no longer gives me a headache:

                            AMD HDZ965FBGMBOX - AMD AM3 Phenom II X4 965 Box CPU Processor, black - Amazon.es: AMD

I might buy a proper cooler for it later and do some OC.

Now the motherboard is what I want to resolver.Me I'm interested in having a motherboard with a USB 3.0 header to put it on the front of the Nox-NX3 case. Candidate and I look forward to your opinions:

                            Asrock 970 Extreme4 AM3+ 90-MXGIP0-A0UAYZ Motherboard

I can't find another one at this price that has an onboard USB 3.0 connector.

I don't care so much about the RAM, as long as it's 8gb DDR3 at 1333 or 1600, I don't think there will be much complication.
