Intel could skip Ivy Bridge E and focus on Haswell E
-
The rumor mill from Tweaktown tells us that there is a possibility of:
- Seeing the Z87 Chipset (and Haswell 1150 launch) at Computex 2013
- Cancellation of IvyBridge E (possible) and delay until late 2013 of Haswell E with X99 chipset (not X89 as it should have been).
Personal opinion… if that were the case... I see it as a more logical move... it's sure to upset many of those who purchased the SNB-E platform with the possibility of upgrading to an IB-E, which would leave them orphaned, but if they follow through with that plan, this sector would be left behind an entire generation and it wouldn't make much sense, as they would already be surpassed by the Haswell (socket 1150)...
It should be noted that the current socket 2011 would not be compatible with the socket 2011 that Haswell E would use, as the pin layout would be different.
-
I do bring improvements over my x79 welcome and should not be discouraged, because progress has these things, that the old hard stays.
That yes, if intel does not get its act together on the socket 2011 and we see that 1150 yields the same or more than 2011, it will be difficult for us to buy it or at least I will not buy it.

It makes no sense to release Ivy-E when Haswel is already on the market with the 1150 socket, the logical thing is to move to Haswel-E, although many people bought a 3820 thinking about upgrading to an ivy-E, that is, the move is going to create controversy.
Let's see how everything turns out.

That would be the most logical thing, which doesn't fit with Intel… ivy is the same architecture as sandy but at 22nm it came out to be useful at low consumption like laptops. I imagine the same thing will happen with the next generation, or at least I hope so. -
I must be one of the few who is happy with 2011…....... :ugly:
But let's go, any improvement is welcome, that is, to change the platform, at least I ask for a 30%, if not, my "old" SB-E will continue here, which surely has a lot of life left in it...
Thanks for the info kpablo!!!
P.D. I don't know why I say those things, if at the slightest change............!! I imagine I'm trying to convince myself.......xD.

Jolote the signature if you should change it: risitas: Of all I don't know anyone who is not happy with the 2011 and as you say if there is no considerable improvement in performance it is silly
