7870XT gives no image
-
Well, I know I haven't made any formal presentation but I don't see a specific subforum for it, I promise to do it in the next message.
I just received the XT, I started working with it and I have a little problem...
I uninstalled the Catalyst, I went to Windows safe mode, I ran the driver sweeper and I ran the ccleaner... after all of that with the 5850 the computer still works... I turn it off to install the 7870XT...
I disconnect the power from the PC, I plug the 7870 into the pci, I anchor the graphics to the case, I connect the two power pins, I connect the monitor cable... I plug in the power cable and I press the 0-1 key on the power supply
I turn on the PC and it doesn't give any video signal...It bugs me, I connect and disconnect (with the PC off) the monitor cable, I try and nothing... I take out the graphics card, I clean the graphics slot that goes into the pci, I clean the pci on the motherboard... and I repeat all the steps and nothing...
I plug in the 5850 and here I am writing...
Do you have any idea what I might have missed or what I should do, or should I just do an RMA?
I rule out: the power supply since it has been working with a gtx 580 until 15 days ago, the monitor cable since I'm using it right now, the pci being dirty since it's the same... it's working right now with the 5850
Greetings and thanks, sorry for the long post

You can try booting the board without graphics, so that it beeps and try again, but it looks bad <:(
Best regards! and Happy RMA

Jo5u, but what have you got at the end:ugly:
Where did you buy it, what assembler is it from? (never mind I just saw it on another forum)
If it's not too much trouble, format it, just for a try.

Make sure you have properly connected the GPU power cables, because that sounds like you forgot to connect them or connected them incorrectly.

Well it's a 7870XT from Redcoon, the cables only have one position and it has two... both are in their position (impossible to put them in another way) and it has both installed... plus I've done the test several times so of those many more that should have been installed correctlyThanks

Hello mates… well, sorry for the repost but I'd like to comment on it in case it could be useful to someone else... I had to update the motherboard drivers... I had the latest official ones but I put the next beta ones and it worked... I had bad experiences with the graphics but the image problem was solved with a driver update on the motherboard...
My name is Josué, I'm from the Canary Islands... my story with PCs began when I wanted to simulate (I had an x 360 and well for it there is only one simulator or the closest thing to it... and a "good" steering wheel compatible...)
So I switched to PC to simulate, I bought a G27 and there it is collecting dust, I got hooked on abf3 and now it turns out that I'm a "BF3 mp addict" to the point of changing graphics and looking at reviews, changing hard... xD (note that I don't know much about it but anyway...)Well, there's my present and the solution to the problem in case anyone has had it... from now on I'll be more often here to bore you...
P.D: I'm looking into what graphics card to buy Xd
