Most recommended graphics card over 370€, Amd or Nvidia
-
Hello forum members, I'm new around here, I usually read without posting.
I need you to advise me from your experience which graphics card would be more convenient at this time, initially I don't care if it's Nvidia or Amd. What I do ask is that you don't give me headaches or the just right ones, I just want it for gaming and applying filters to the maximum and graphic options, in addition to watching movies, although the latter can be done by anyone xD.
I've read around that AMD is giving good performance at a more affordable price, although if it's a lottery that you get one without problems it gives you something to think about.
Nvidia seems to be more stable and even their drivers but they give less performance, on top of a higher price, the phsix I don't care about.
I've gathered around 370 euros but I'm stuck on whether to get a 670 or 7970, improved dissipation or reference, with OC as standard and so on...
I just want to buy the one that offers me the most for more or less that money and gives me a more complete gaming experience avoiding incompatibilities of any kind, sttutering, and everything negative that you can think of, I won't get tangled up anymore, basically that's the story.
The rest of the PC is an i7 3770 k, GA-Z77X-UD5H, 8 Gb and SSD

Hello and welcome, well I think this is a good option
Gigabyte GeForce GTX 670 OC 2GB GDDR5 - approx 265 euros
although of course for the same price I almost went with this
Gigabyte Radeon HD 7970 OC 3GB GDDR5

Currently, with the performance of both brands being so even. I would go for the one that offers me the best extras… Currently the one offering good extras is AMD's HD7900 that gives away 2 AAA games (Crysis 3 and Bioshock Infinite) while Nvidia gives away credit in free games...
-
A nice extra is that extra gig of ram, especially if you want to "apply filters to the max" as he says.
-
My vote for the 7970 for the 3Gb and for the extras as commented by fellow kpablo.

@Pazuzu:

There is a variable that has not been commented on, if you want to watch movies in conditions–1920x1080@24Hz, choose AMD, since you comment on the movies but it is not clear how demanding you are with this.
-
Yes, I understand that a while ago nVidia finally fixed the problem it had with video playback at 23.976 fps, so that shouldn't be a problem.
I, after my disastrous experience with an HD7950 would also opt for the GTX 670.
-
Hmmm interesting, they didn't know that it had been fixed, with the GTX 6xx series I didn't have time to test any bluray.
-
Thanks to everyone for your advice.
I always have the computer connected to a 50'' Panasonic Plasma, its resolution is 1360x768 and I watch a lot of movies and series in addition to playing.
So far I am with an 8800GTX that holds its own well (I'm talking about playing any game) but I have been discarding/parking all the games I would say from a year and a half ago or more for not being able to play them with the fluidity of 60 frames that I appreciate so much on the TV.
A few months ago I changed platforms in the first place because I am aware that the graphics market is very changeable in prices and performance and while there was time I could settle prices or that the new generation 8xxx and 7xx would come out. Since it seems to be taking a long time (I can't wait any longer) for the new generation, I have been ''forced'' to choose what is most convenient for X price at present.
I went from an E6600, 2 GB ram and PH5W Deluxe to an i7 3770k GA-Z77X-UD5H, 8 Gb, SSD and the change was very good and I have even been able to afford to play a little more with the 8800 GTX squeezed to its last drop on the new platform.
Wwwendigo you are very right in how AMD behaves with its support via drivers, with its new GCN architecture, in my particular case having parked all those titles that have cost so much to work correctly I won't notice it today but if I were in those moments I would have opted for Nvidia, for me those details are decisive.
I am writing these words just when about 1 hour ago I finished placing the order on Amazon for this particular card:
Sapphire 11197-12-40G - Video Card: Amazon.es: Computers
I read and read and there was practically unanimity as to which option of that graphics card gave more performance overall but people don't usually comment on those ''small'' details of drivers when they give advice xD.
Now I just have to wait to receive it and test it in depth, but I can already assure you that if I notice in the 7 days I have to withdraw strange things while testing it that not even the 8800 does, I am quite capable of returning it and changing it for a 670 that is around that price or less.
-
Very good price, sir, and you will see that you will not change it: fumeta:
-
Ummm interesting, you didn't know that they had fixed it, with the GTX 6xx series I didn't have time to try any bluray.
Lol, something similar happened to you like Wargreymon but the other way around, the GTX 670 didn't work out too well for you and you switched to the other side. ;D
-
don't worry you've bought a good graphics card and you won't regret it
regards

I appreciate each and every one of your comments and recommendations, guys.
When I get the graph, I'll comment on how it goes in case anyone is in the same doubt as me, although I'm afraid I'm one of the last to try these series ;D and everything is more than proven...
