I found these second-hand components in a forum, which seem to be in very good condition:
      Cooler Master V8 heatsink
      Asus Crosshair IV Formula motherboard
      Intel Core i7 920
Everything would come out for about 170€.

The thing is that I have an HD 6850 graphics card and an OCZ 600W power supply. Do you see it compatible with what I have?
The RAM thing, it will be a matter of changing it, but it seems like a great deal, right?
Even being second-hand, is it worth it? What should I take into account?

PD. I have an Intel Core 2 Duo at 2.93GHz, a pegatron motherboard (predefined in some old Hps) and the heatsink of the motherboard.

Man, I would try to leave myself 200€ in an Ivy or a Sandy at least... and that's the new Intel platform is already here, but going to the first generation of i7 I don't see it as entirely optimal, especially for new software, even if it's high-end.

        It's my opinion.

        Best regards

Well I'll wait a little while for them to release the new gen and for these to go down.
          Thanks for the advice.

I have something similar to what you have posted, and I have no complaints about the performance.
The truth is that for what you have now, it is a huge leap.

Try to haggle a little by commenting that new ones will come out bla bla bla first generation bla bla bla, and if you get a good price, take it. But only if you get a good price.

I don't think it's badly priced, but you have to buy 3 memory modules and in the end you have to be the one to decide. I think an I7 920 is still a very good processor.

As they tell you, new processors are going to come out and probably more hardware sales will start to be seen from people who want to upgrade. So this type of processor should go down in price second-hand, but they are by no means bad processors.

You have to be the one to decide whether to wait a little longer or not. But of course if you buy it you will notice a very big jump compared to your Dual Core.

Well, ram is not too expensive now, and it is also not necessary to buy 3 modules, 2 is also fine, although it is clear that 3 will be better.

For that price, the man is very good and you will notice a big change... although it is true that the memories are missing. Anyway, before making the purchase, I would look to see if you can find a bargain with a Sandy like a 2600, who knows, sometimes people get rid of hardware as soon as they see something nicer.

Well, for the price, the whole package, it's pretty good. It's true that you would have to buy memory (their thing is a pack of three to take advantage of triple channel), but... for 200€ +/- you have a great upgrade for your computer. I recently got myself an i7 950 (110€) and I'm reusing the i7 920 in another motherboard that I had for the family PC. You really don't think that for everyday use (games, multimedia, office work) you're going to notice differences with a newer core i. In consumption, OC and pure performance (in a rendering and more work tasks with professional programs) there is more difference, that's clear and... the usual thing that with second-hand you always have fear if you get a lemon. However, if you feel more comfortable you can invest in something new, only that you will pay for it. You can easily go to around 260-300€, depending on what you buy, of course (speaking of new, maybe with second-hand you'll see something cheaper). Well, I think a 2500k second-hand would be very tempting, and they perform excellently. But as I said, it's a matter of seeing offers and analyzing it coldly according to needs.
