Let's see if one of these years I recover some emails with a scammer like this, but back then it was for the rental of a magnificent apartment in Barcelona at a very very affordable price, but the owner was in Great Britain and sent you the keys by mail... Out of curiosity I followed his story and they have it set up in a way that any naive person is sure to fall for (they answered me 7 or 8 emails, even going to the trouble of creating a fake website of a courier company, with its credible WHOIS and all). My girlfriend's father is a sub-inspector and he told me that the police information brigade has a hard time with these cases because legally they are very very difficult to prosecute. Since then I can't stop warning potentially naive family and friends
