I agree with you fjavi about the joke, but that's something Intel has been doing for several generations. The Intel platform that left me with the best taste in my mouth is the 1366, both with the Nehalem and Gulftown (the best processors Intel has ever released in its history, fresh, fast and stable as a rock that performs and rivals any SB-E). You are right but I think it's not just Asus, Gigabyte is the same, they are the most important manufacturers, in fact, not many X79 have been released. To be honest, the R3E works like a charm for me, of course it's x58, but I have the same OC configuration for years, sometimes I lower the latency to the memory but not a single failure, that's why I blame more the x79 itself than the motherboards although some give fewer problems.
Perhaps many problems are also in the CPUs that have disabled parts, that socket is very large with quite a TDP and it may have happened to it like the Q6600 b3 or the 920 C1, which were not as good as the next revision.
But perhaps a Haswell of those will be much better and more stable, even on an X79 if they are really compatible.
@Praimus:I don't care at all about not being able to pin a haswell-e on my old x79 if it means gaining performance or other improvements. Trying to reuse hardware in many cases makes us drag problems.

I agree, but if you gain PCIe 3.0, 8 real cores, not two disabled, better TDP, better OC and stability and you only change a CPU, it's welcome.

I'm totally against backward compatibility and I think it's right that the socket changes, as a general rule, new chipsets bring new things.
I honestly don't care about not being able to put a Haswell-E in my X79 rig if it means gaining performance or other improvements, wanting to reuse hardware often drags problems with it.

Traera supongo una tarjeta de esas de sonido y de conexión para juegos, como la R3B, asi quizá no tengan los problemas con el sonido de las R4E, aunque aquí veo un video y no parece que tenga nada de tarjeta de sonido pcie, aunque viene sin bundle.

La placa de esta captura es una MSI z87 no se si será esa que dices, de todas formas en Z87 es fácil que también las Asus y Gigabyte destaquen, incluso la Biostar podrían ser buenas para SLI simple, pero las Gigabyte y Biostar parece que tendrán una tarjeta de sonido de calidad, integrada en placa, al menos las Assasind, en Biostar las de gam alta, pero eso que ya se ve a la Maximus VI a 7ghz y tocara esperar a ver cuales interesan mas.

Es la MSI XPower Z87, es que me ha impactado las fases de alimentacion de esa palca, como bien dices las gigabyte e biostar tendran mejores chipset de audio y seguramente que con menos desembolso consigas los mismos efectos de potencia sobre la cpu, ram e gpus.
Es impresionante un i5 subido a 6ghz, pienso que habrá sido con r.l.No se el precio que tendrá de salida pero me parece muy buena placa, habrá que esperar que salga haswell para verla funcionar.

Despues de tener la Big Bang durante 4 meses que llevo con ella, solo puedo decir cosas buenas de MSI, no tendría tan buenas palabras para las anteriores X79 que he tenido, una Rampage IV, a la cual se le iba la pinza a la bios cuando le parecia, y una Asrock Extreme 7, que no era capaz de aguantar el trio de 670. No me imagino lo que sería de esa placa con el trio de Titanes…......
Esta MSI me ha sorprendido mucho, tanto que cuando cambie de placa miraré lo primero MSI. ;).

Han espabilado, con la llegada de Sandy les costó Dios y ayuda sacar buenas BIOS y las gama baja eran una lotería (han pasado por mis manos 3 placas del modelo que poseo).
