Lightpack — ambient backlight for your displays by Woodenshark — Kickstarter clicking on the link you will see what I am talking about, it is not the monitor but an accessory for monitors, a ambilight for PC and very well done.

The question: How much would you be willing to pay if it were sold?

I just watched the video and the truth is that I would get it. Not only does it create ambient light in games and movies but it has an app for OS/android to be able to control the intensity and color of the light, so that you can create the atmosphere you want in your room, living room…

With 34 days ahead I am sure they will get the money they need, the kickstarters will have the opportunity to get it for $50 and the rest for $90, which don't seem like bad prices to me. I'm going to wait to see how things evolve but maybe I'll get encouraged and throw some money at them to see what happens...

        Regards!

Even if it were €90 instead of dollars, I would seriously consider it, of course, if it's $50, take my money!!! And $70 (which they ask for now, 60+10 for shipping) seems fair to me. I think there's no one who wouldn't like it, but as with prices, there are different economies, hence the question, because in my opinion, comparing it to Philips' ambilight, the savings are huge, they just need to release a version for TVs and they'll make a fortune.

About supporting the project, or paying in advance, I have my doubts but I'm also encouraged.

P.D. I hadn't noticed that there's a pack of 2 for $120 and it's supposed to be possible to use both at the same time with larger configurations like multiple monitors, I imagine.

P.D.2. I think that unless some of you are encouraged to buy this pack of 2, the rest are already sold out... We'll have to wait for the next one.

It looks very good, and it beats the ambilithg of philips by a mile, at least in the video.

It's pretty cool, although sometimes it has distracted me, either I was watching what was happening on the monitor or I was watching the colors follow the ones in the image xDD
But that's another story with a good screen live of course. Patience, we have to be hopeful, the day will come when we buy it at a bargain price at H2M, I trust :ugly:

it's not clear to me, but I haven't seen the option for the color to follow the colors of the scenes,...which is what the philips ambi does, and I suppose that's why it's so expensive,...if this one doesn't do that, then it's like any of the ones sold in stores and on ebay, with its remote control to adjust colors and intensity

                regards

Well, in the video I clearly see how it follows the colors with the scene, if it didn't, there wouldn't be much point in bringing out a product like this, it would be better to buy a strip of LEDs for that.

It works very well as seen in the video on moving images like movies or games but not only that, you can set it up to show you notifications with colors for example calls through skype, to show data like CPU temperature, or to set it manually as you want. The best part is that it's opensource and they intend to keep it open and cheap, multiplatform and as a remote control you can use an app for android or maybe even iOS.

It can't get any better, I say that this had been tried before but it's the best I've seen by far.

Of course it would be awesome to be able to connect it to an hdmi and have it work with the image that a dtt sends to a tv, but that's a bit beyond the main purpose of the device which is to use it with a PC. Although in the faq they even talk about the possibility of making it compatible with consoles like ouya, who knows if it will be commercialized to the general public if it becomes compatible with the new generation of consoles.

I think that by connecting it to my smarttv it can work for sure there will be some possibility of connecting, but if I pick it up I will connect it to the HTPC and enjoy, I think that if I am going to get it, although I must give it another try.
