Reflections on my PS3
-
I have previously mentioned that I got a 12gb PS3 Super Slim (I put a 250Gb disk that I had around in it). I was tempted to get it to see if I would get hooked on the new generation of console games, and besides the Gran Turismo 5 that was given away, they left me with:
- Brutal Legend (naughty but very guided)
- Devil May Cry 4 (another very guided one).
- Dragon Age Origin (it looks more like the ones on PC, but it doesn't appeal to me right now)
- COD Modern Warfare 2 (I was still getting used to the controls and had to return it).
And I haven't even touched these.
- Time Shift.
- Final Fantasy XIII.
- Tekken 6.
- Darksiders.
- Prototype.
I have also tried some demos of more "casual" games that almost caught my attention more than the previous superproductions.
What I have clear is that I don't like games that tell you "go here", and if you don't do a very specific action you won't be able to continue. The last PC games that hooked me were:
- World of Warcraft.
- Dune II ;D.
- Wacraft III.
- Civilization II.
- New Star Soccer 5 (reminds me of Sensible Soccer but making a career as a player).
- Toca Race Driver II.
In short, of everything I have on PS3 I would save Gran Turismo, but without a steering wheel I prefer even Toca, and the one I had before was compatible with PS3 but I don't know why it doesn't work now, in fact it doesn't appear in GT5 among the steering wheels to choose from.
Anyway, I am thinking about putting Windows 7 back in along with Linux and recovering some PC games.

It's just that consoles are what there are, perhaps the best games to play are GTA and games of that style, although it's very guided, Uncharted and God of War are entertaining and have cool stories and as they mix puzzles, they are entertaining, try them.

Let me try the ones left from the ones they left me and get myself a God of War. They've always spoken well of Uncharted, but if I was never into Lara Croft games on PC, I don't know how I'll do with these.I think I'll give the PS3 a chance this summer, I have more free time, and then I'll decide if I keep it or sell it and reinvest in improvements for the PC.
One of the reasons I bought it was because I was after a BlueRay player, and I thought a PS3 was a safe bet with added value. And another reason to get it was the Guitar Hero, but it seems that it can only be obtained second-hand now.
A question. A friend told me that it was possible to use emulators without pirating it, is this true?, because I love retro games, and I have to admit that the PS3 controller is the best I've handled.

Your problem is that you haven't played anything good... and you have to be console exclusives/ps3 or that improves the gameplay right away: Uncharted, Infamous, Bayonetta, God of War, Metal Gear, Flower, Jurney, Wipeout, Heavy Rain, Resonance of Fate, Batman, Tomb Raider, Sleeping Dogs, Rayman, DDR etc... there are many and of all genres. You have great games in the play store, also retro, a lot of 100% Japanese games, RPGs, driving like Gran Turismo, sports, music/dance games. All of that is played better on a console with a TV and a controller.
If we go for deals, on PC that usually comes out cheaper, or FPS/strategy then better with a mouse, but I'm not changing console for PC to play right now.
PD. And from here until the end of the year there will be a BIG one like The Last of Us or Remember Me.

I take note of the titles. It seems clear that Uncharted is one of the most recommended, as well as GoW, so first I will take a quick look at the ones I have left and if not, I will go for one of these in a budget series or second-hand plan.
