Geforce GTX 690 help me choose
-
I want to buy this magnificent card but I don't know which one to choose some are cheaper and others more expensive I mean the assembler who sells it.
Available Options.
-ASUS
-ZOTAC
-GIGABYTE
-EVGA
I was thinking of buying the Zotac as it's the one that fits my pocket at the moment but I don't know if I should really wait and save up to buy the ASUS or any other? Or is all this a matter of taste? -

What I would do is wait or for them to drop in price which shouldn't be long, or to see if a 790 comes out, they should start lowering the price of the 690 already to get rid of the ones they have left, if the 680 is now dropping with the release of the 770, they will probably have to lower the 690 as well, plus maybe they will now release a 790 with two 770 chips and the 690 would depreciate quickly.
Besides, with the Titan already on the market the 690 can't keep those prices, because they will sell few.

I completely agree. After reading the reviews of the web's I think it's a waste of money. I don't know if fjavi will agree with me that to get a 690 I'll get the Titan which is superior in everything by numbers and with 6gb ddr5 you can't ask for more from a graphics card, and the price is even lower. I'm amazed (I mean the price)

Can you explain to me please why you would choose the 780? Wouldn't the 690 perform better than the 780?

Can you explain why you would choose the 780 over the 690? Wouldn't the 690 perform better than the 780?
Well, they'll tell you that the GTX 780 is a single GPU, and won't have compatibility issues, although you won't have those with a dual GPU like the GTX 690.
It's totally logical that in performance, a GTX 690 would be faster, maybe around 35%.
But the problem is, it also consumes more electricity, and it's also more expensive. Look at this example, for about 200/250€ more than what a GTX 690 costs, you could even put 2x GTX 780, and then it would already beat that GTX 690. At least 30% more performance would come out of it.
I would do the following depending on a few things:
- If you're not a maniac for being at the cutting edge, and you're not updating every other month, then I would choose the GTX 690.
- Now, if you're the opposite of the above, then better get a GTX 780, if you can't get two at once, then in a few months when you can get another, you'll have a very good SLI 780.
-Or the other option would be to wait a few months, until the GTX 790 comes out, and get that one, which will surely be faster than a GTX 780, than a GTX 690, and will be very close to an SLI 780.
That's my opinion!!

nvidia 690-titanI agree and I prefer the Titan, the truth is that the 690 performs a little better than the Titan, although with OC the Titan gets closer, I'm talking about both with OC, but the 690 will start to depreciate very quickly and besides, second-hand monogpus sell better.
For me the Titan is better because it performs very little less than the 690 and being a monogpu it has many advantages, you don't depend on SLI profiles, it usually works well and if you eventually add another one you gain a lot of performance, even now the price/performance I see as the best by far is the 780, although it's also expensive I don't see it as bad as the 690 and Titan, for me that 780 is the ideal card, when it stabilizes in price below 600€ I think the 780 will be the best of the three, although at the current price it is also the best.
For now I see the 6Gb of the Titan as exaggerated, it's a card that allows double precision calculations and that's why it's almost like the Tesla K20X, people can buy the Titan to work, although the Tesla will surely perform better but the Titan is much cheaper,
The 780 seems to have been deprived of those double precision calculations, but we want them for gaming so we don't care, what we want is that they perform well and cost little.
Can you explain why you would choose the 780? Wouldn't the 690 perform better than the 780?
The problem with the 690 is that it's dual and depends on SLI profiles, right now games like Metro LL will run better on the 780 than on the 690, not to mention that this 780 seems to overclock well and gains a lot of performance from OC, but that lately there are always new games where it takes time for SLI to run smoothly, I have an SLI and I would change it in a heartbeat for a 780 that will even give me more performance without depending on changing drivers or looking for profiles, besides, SLI usually runs better and tends to have more microstuttering than a monogpu, monogpus go to fewer fps but give more smoothness, they are more stable although SLI will end up working pretty well in most games.
But the bad thing is that some take longer than others, while with monogpus they usually run well from the start.

Can you explain why you would choose the 780 instead? Wouldn't the 690 perform better than the 780?
I was in a similar situation, as you may have seen in the Titan or GTX 690 poll, and it was a resounding 100% for the Titan
My concern with the GTX 690 was its low memory for future 4GB (2GB + 2GB), the choice was 6GB vs 2 GB at that time the GTX 780 was expected for August/October, testing the Metro 2034 benchmark I saw that its consumption marked me 2.3GB
Well, with the GTX 780 in stores at $ 650, the Titan at $ 930 and the GTX 690 at $ 950, although today the one with the highest performance is the GTX 690, in my opinion it will be the first to fall short.
The GTX 780 is between 0 to 5 fps below the Titan, the Titan is almost at 60 fps in 90% of the games at 1440p, so the GTX 780 will also be very good.
If I hadn't bought the Titan, my option would be a GTX 780 and if it wasn't enough later I would add a second one and it would be well above the GTX 690.
Regards.

The reason I choose the Titan is because of the 6gb, not the 2+2. Also, as patagonico says, if you wait for the 780s to drop in price, you can get 2 for the price of one.
Although the issue of having double precision calculations may not be noticeable now, we will soon see them being used. -
I agree that with a sli of a 780 I would get good performance or maybe a titan but if you mount a sli from the 690 until the 790 comes out I think it would beat those two but it would consume a lot of energy now I am about to buy a new graphics card and the truth is I am a little confused about which one to choose however the 780 is stretching my budget more since besides being a new series I know it would be the smartest thing to go for it, only that I will have to wait for it since in my country there is still no trace of it.

I'm going for the 780, I'm going to buy it from Amazon :troll:

Little is known about the GTX 790 and it is assumed that its price would be the same as a GTX 690

I don't know what country you are from but in Argentina due to import problems lately hardware has been taking 45 to 60 days for high-end products  from its release date.
ferelxyx, the comparisons I made against a GTX 780 the results gave a tie the difference is null in Metro 2034.

I live in Paraguay, friend, but as I said above, I prefer to bring it from Amazon and pay a little more than to wait for a company here to bring it today I'm going to get two GTX 780s to make an SLI, I think they would perform super well.
Regarding the GTX 790, it is a myth and a fake, I don't believe that news, besides there is no official news on the Nvidia website, and I hope it will be in the not so near future, as it would not be worth launching several GPUs in such a short time, it is better to wait a while so that a new range comes out with more options and improvements incorporated.
