Update PC, to 1155
-
After much contemplation and discarding the idea of switching to Haswell due to the disappointment it represents, I have decided to upgrade my PC:
My interest in overclocking is limited, I want to overclock just enough and not push the limits.
Regarding CPU cooling, I would like to go liquid, but I have no idea what to choose and if it is compatible with the case I would like to buy.All opinions are welcome, but please try to be impartial and provide arguments for your opinions. I know I am switching from AMD to INTEL, but I am not brand-loyal, I am looking for results. I want to make the most of the GTX 780, which is undoubtedly the most important and expensive piece in the upgrade. I would love to stick with NVIDIA, but AMD doesn't seem to be putting much effort into drivers, which is why I am leaning towards the expensive GTX.
I want to take advantage of those 16GB of 1333MHz RAM, so I won't be upgrading them. Will I have any problems?Initially, I am oriented towards a single GPU, but from what I see, if I ever change my mind, I could always go SLI, even if it's 8x8x with this 700W power supply. Would it be enough for a possible SLI of 780 in the future?
I use the PC for GAMING, capturing game videos with Fraps, and editing and uploading videos to YouTube.
Thank you all.
Currently I have:
AMD pheno II x4 955BE16gb Ram DDR3 1333 kingston
GTX 460 MSI ciclonHD WD cabiar 500gb
Termaltake 700W power supply
~~
Clnica brand case~~What I have crossed out is what I will replace.
And this is what I plan to buy:
SSD: Samsung 250gb
Motherboard: MSI Z77A-G45 Gaming "I like it for its LAN and AUDIO + easy OC BIOS"
CPU: **Intel Core i5-3570K
**
GPU: EVGA GTX 780 SC "I like it for its temperatures"Case: Fractal Define R4 Black Pearl " I like it for its design and silence, but will it be sufficiently cooled? Will it fit a liquid cooling system?"
