Hello, I have a computer with Windows 7 64 bits and it is installed on a 64 GB SSD.
I bought it 3 years ago and when trying to reinstall Windows 7 I am having the problem that I cannot format the SSD (it is almost full now).
I start the computer with the Windows 7 DVD, it loads the files (from the DVD not from the SSD) but it freezes when it reaches the blue screen, the strange thing is that I do not get the option to repair the system at the beginning. If I insert the DVD after the computer starts up it reads it perfectly and the Windows installation menu appears, but it does not let me install it because it says there is not enough space (and I do not get the menu with the formatting options).
I have tried with another Windows DVD in case it was defective, I have the same problem. I have also tried to activate AHCI mode.
I have made a repair disk and when starting the computer with it inside if I get the repair options why then do I not get the repair menu from the original DVD?
Are SSDs not formatted like all the others?

Do you have the recorder as the primary boot in BIOS?
-
Yes, it starts from the DVD without problems. I get the message to press a key, I do it starts to load and the image freezes before the menu to repair or install Windows, I have tried it with another DVD (both original) so I rule out that it is a problem with the DVD.

What if you use a Linux LiveCd with gparted to format it?
Best regards

Try another footstep recorder.

What worries me is that after formatting the SSD with Gparted or a similar utility, the Windows 7 DVD still doesn't show me the repair/installation menu for Windows.
However, if I run the DVD with Windows started, the menu does appear. What could be the cause?

Honestly, no idea. <:(
Have you tried booting it from a Windows bootable USB?
You can create one with the tool Windows 7 USB/DVD download tool and rule out that it's not a problem with the burner.Best regards

hello, that problem is either the reader or recorder you use or you have some bad memory
get a recorder on loan or buy one and test it, if it's not the recorder you return it
then try removing and inserting the memories cleaning the sockets of the same and if it continues to fail remove one and test it and then if it fails change it for the one you removed, regards
