Has someone put a tempered glass in front of their LED / Plasma to prevent an accident from ruining their 2000 euros?

I need to protect it from my son…

Don't even think about it. Protect the child and make sure the TV is placed in a way that it won't get hit. Turn the TV up louder, put a box in front of it, whatever, but forget about glass.
Tempered glass shatters like knives, even though it's harder. Now put a child and glass together and you'll see it's madness.

Wow! the glazier who installed some mirrors and a door always tells me that tempered glass is like little tacos that do nothing… I just have to buy a Sony with Gorilla Glass and insure it... ?

The sellers say it's unbreakable, but there's a video of some thugs breaking it by throwing remote controls at it:

Thank you very much for the advice… I'll ask the glazier about laminated glass... although he'll probably say that it can't be drilled to put anchors...

PD: A few days ago my 50' Panasonic Plasma received an impact that cracked it (in a millisecond after the child threw a plastic disc like a frisbee I had to say goodbye to it forever and to having TV until after Christmas) and the seller also said that the glass is reinforced...

If it is to protect you, I tell you that there is a 3m film that turns any glass into laminated glass, but the issue of reflections is another issue. If they tell you it does not exist, call 3m and you will see what a laugh. It is called Safety 150 (that is the one with 50 microns. There is a thicker one), and if you put it on tempered glass, then yes, because if it breaks, that film will support the glass so that it does not fall on anyone. It can be put on both sides, but as I tell you, no matter how transparent the film or the glass is, you will always see worse than without it. And if they put the film on well, you can't distinguish it from the glass.

            Greetings

Well, I already know what I'll ask for, a tempered glass with the sheet sticking out of the TV at the top and bottom (I have window handles on the sides) and they will drill 4 holes at the top and 2 at the bottom (horizontally) so that I can pass some kind of fastening through the back... as I will have it with a Lava rotating support, I don't mind putting more things into the hell of the back and I can even make the protector attach to the VESA of the support.

Thank you very much for the advice.
