Monitor that does not have an HDMI input

Well, my monitor, an LG Flatron of 21.2 inches, does not have an HDMI input and I was thinking that if I buy one of those adapters that sell VGA and HDMI input to connect my graphics card, a 760 GTX, I will notice a change in terms of image quality? Currently, I have it connected with the VGA adapter from the graphics card directly to the monitor

I'm not entirely sure, but I think that if you want to go from HDMI to VGA you would need a more complex converter in addition to the adapter, since HDMI is fully digital and VGA is analog.

Tell us what inputs the monitor has and what outputs the graphics card has. Possible conversions if they are:

DVI > VGA (DVI has several versions, some with both analog and digital signals and usually only requires a simple adapter)

HDMI > DVI (both with digital signals and fully compatible except for audio)

I still don't understand if your monitor only has a VGA input or if it also has another type of input. If it's only VGA, an HDMI>VGA adapter won't make any difference.

I think I understand that you have the typical adapter to connect the VGA cable to a digital output (DVI or HDMI), so the only way to improve the image, or rather clean it up a bit, would be to get a better shielded VGA cable, if you don't already have a quality one.

I think Cobito is going to be right, the only input my monitor has is the typical VGA and no matter how much I put an HDMI adapter on it, I don't think it's going to transmit an improvement or maybe yes? since the card is the one that has the HDMI output and it's the one that emits the image signal. In this case my graphics card is a Gigabyte windforce 760 gtx.
I didn't know about the shielded cable, man it's not HDMI but it's a pretty good option, what do you think then with this graphics card and the only input of my monitor?

The only way to improve the image quality with VGA input is by using a better cable, but if you don't notice any interference or clearly blurry areas in the image, don't expect big improvements with the change of cable.

An adapter could do something by connecting it directly to the monitor (or with a very short cable) and the long cable being the HDMI. With this you will notice an improvement similar to using a good cable.

Putting an adapter on the output of the graphics card and from there a VGA cable to the screen, serves no purpose.

As they say, improving the VGA is complicated. If you had at least a DVI input on the monitor, there would be a quality leap, but otherwise you won't achieve much.

Well, thank you for your opinions, the truth is that I see the image well but as I had an HDMI cable at home, I said the same thing, I can get something more, but of course with the crappy input that the monitor has, nothing works.

Well, to the point. Something similar happened to me with a gt440. The PC starts up and doesn't display video. You restart it and it starts. The card is bad. That's been my solution. Try with another graphics card. Oh, the monitor, being CRT, has a circuit to demagnetize itself. It usually fails and blocks the graphics. I know this because I used two 17" ones in their time. Damn, what a pain. This was for another post lol. Not sleeping takes its toll. You can order the screen cable better shielded. I bought the cable and soldered it myself and all that. But unless it's more than two meters, you won't notice any apparent difference.

well, I think it's another "issue" that has nothing to do with trying to improve image quality with a cable change, but interesting "contribution" ;D

I had the same problem a few months ago, my monitor is an LG Flatron 22E I don't know what else, of 21.7'' and it only has a VGA input, the thing is that I bought a cable on ebay, on one side it has VGA (to the monitor) and on the other HDMI (to the graphics card), I thought it would improve the image, but no, it's NOT COMPATIBLE, the monitor says so, I tried another one in its case DVI-VGA, and the same thing.
In my opinion, I think that you can't improve the image of the monitor with just a VGA input, it's possible as some say with a better cable, but anyway, I don't know.
