I am overwhelmed by the wide variety of cards and options, I am looking to choose a card for a new computer that I am going to buy.

SLI or Crossfire? No, a priori. I won't do SLI for a while, when the card becomes obsolete or drops in price then I will consider it.

      • Budget: Maximum 254€
      • Nvidia or ATI: I have no preference, your choice.
      • Overclock: I will do a little overclocking if the games require it.

Mainly I am looking for a card with good performance that is fairly quiet and well cooled.

The options I am considering are as follows:

      Sapphire HD 7950 OC Boost Vapor-X 3GB GDDR5 (it's my first option)
      Sapphire HD 7950 OC Boost Vapor-X 3GB GDDR5
      254

      Gigabyte GV-N760 OC-2GD Rev. 2.0
      Gigabyte GV-N760OC-2GD (rev. 2.0)
      245€

      MSI GTX760 2GB GDDR5 N760 TF 2GD5/OC
MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC graphics card
      239€

      Which one is better?
      Any other candidate/model?

On the other hand, I have read that Nvidia's PhysX is superior to AMD's technology and that games must be specifically prepared, does this mean that if a game comes with PhysX with a Radeon it can't be used? (I mean without doing tricks, or installing pirated drivers, etc...)

P.d. Excuse me if I said something silly but I have been quite disconnected from this world for a few years.

Both are very good for micro, which graphics card is it?

I'm going to mount it on an Asrock Z87 Extreme6 with an i7 4770 and 16Gb RAM.

Thanks for the links gamingpy (I had already seen the one from anadtech)

Except that you're going to do OC and also taking it to its extreme, with voltage increases and such, without a doubt the GTX 760, because besides being cheaper they are slightly faster than the 7950 in the series. Also, the one you put there, the Sapphire one, I don't recommend it to anyone (in particular, for Sapphire's own merits, no model based on GCN from this manufacturer, too many defective models to trust any of them).

In the kepler it's usually normal to get 15-20% extra performance with OC, except in cases like the GTX 660 or so. So a 7950 boost edition has to do much more than 1100 MHz clock to have any advantage, if it gets it (which it should reach or exceed 1200, otherwise it will hardly surpass a GTX 760, on average).

You can get other GTX 760 even cheaper, the Zotac is not bad for the price it offers, it's sure to be worse than the sapphire, jajaja (boum!):ugly:

one of these two, depending on the price although the AMD has 3GB, that's why it costs more

Forget about the Sapphire, in these models they will give many problems

both are very equal in general

              Gigabyte Radeon HD 7950 3GB GDDR5 WindForce
MSI GeForce GTX 760 Twin Frozr OC Gaming 2GB GDDR5

              regards

I've been researching quite a few reviews and it seems that the HD 7950 has better performance than the GTX 760, however, as you also tell me, I've read that Radeon HDs have more problems than GTXs, specifically for the model I'm thinking of buying "Sapphire 7950 OC Boost Vapor-X" I found the following link:
Sapphire 7950 vapor-x boost problem and more - Page 4

where they talk about Sapphire changing the memory supplier to a cheaper and lower quality one.

I'm not interested in having a more powerful graphics card that then gives me problems.
I think I'll finally go for the MSI GeForce GTX 760 Twin Frozr OC Gaming 2GB GDDR5

Update: They don't have stock of the MSI GTX 760!! ? ? ? :asdf: They offered me instead the ASUS GTX760-DC2OC-2GD5 graphics card

The Asus is a small PCB, I see something better than the gigabyte or the EVGA, they are longer but I think they will be cooler, even in short the Zotac is clearly cheaper even though the Asus is better, but the Zotac is an AMP, I mean these.

                  Gigabyte GeForce GTX 760 OC 2GB GDDR5 GV-N760OC-2GD 2.0 Graphics Card
EVGA GeForce GTX 760 SC w/ ACX Cooler 2GB GDDR5 02G-P4-2765-KR Graphics Card
Zotac GeForce GTX 760 AMP! 2GB GDDR5 ZT-70402-10P Graphics Card

The flaw I see in the Asus besides the price is the width, it seems very wide to me and it will be more complicated for an SLI if one day you decide to do it, although you could put a reference one at the top.

                  regards

                    Thanks for your answers.

Right now the cards I like the most (within my budget) are in this order:

                    • MSI N760 TF 2GD5/OC graphics card
                    • Gigabyte GV-N760OC-2GD (rev. 2.0)

fjavi, which one do you like the most?

I recommend the MSI, on August 5 I bought the Gigabyte Windforce the one with 2 gb of memory and right now I have it ready to send back with an RMA open because it turned out to be defective. It may be that they are few and I had to get mine, but I was in the same position as you regarding which one to decide on and I have to say that I see the MSI as being of better quality materials.

Many thanks boncoe for your answer, it is very useful to me. I personally prefer reliability to performance, it is of no use to me a more powerful manufacturer if it then gives problems.

Honestly I would choose the gtx 760, whatever the option sometimes you get the bad one of having a computer with factory defects let's say that always happens it's like that whatever the brand is because sometimes in specific models it seems that it's more there where the problem is centered, I think this may be due to the manufacturing material that the assemblers use, on the other hand answering your question from my point of view I see better suited the one I mentioned above it's not because of being a fan boy or anything since I have already tried both brands and I can tell you that both come out very well.

There will always be problems you would just recommend that before making your purchase you look for references about that particular one and see the good or bad aspects of each one, so that in that way one of them convinces you since in the end you are the one who decides, always remember that cooling is very important they are points to take into account that if one has more fan it would be the most appropriate.

                          Greetings
