PROBLEMS WITH SCANNER PACKARD BELL DIAMOND 2450 IN WINDOWS XP SERVICE PACK 3 CONNECTED BY USB
Hello, is there anyone who can help me with the problems I have with a Packard Bell Diamond 2450 USB scanner with transparency adapter.
I would appreciate help to solve the following case, having contacted the Packard Bell After-sales service, which I understand was bought by Acer, at least as far as Europe is concerned. But they sent me a driver that doesn't recognize it and haven't bothered any more, the scanner is new and has a transparency module, I hope someone can help me solve the problems for its operation in WINDOWS XP SP3 (or if possible in WINDOWS 7), the characteristics are as follows:
Packard Bell Diamond 2450 scanner with resolutions of 2400x1200 pixels, bought from the Pc City chain around 2005 with the driver version 1.0.0.2 connected by USB F/W:0016 to a computer with Windows XP SP3, I'm having problems with the Twain 1.0 module driver V 1.24 and I can't scan, the message is as follows:
"THE IMPORT COMMAND COULD NOT BE COMPLETED BECAUSE THERE WAS AN ERROR WITH THE INTERFACE OF THE ACQUISITION MODULES"
Where can I find an update? It has always caused me problems, after scanning I had to exit the application and re-enter it to continue. The Panel module, apart from being very limited in options, only works once and I must exit and re-enter the application to do another scan. I have tried almost everything, uninstalling it, reinstalling it, trying the Mustek driver, but it didn't recognize it, I think I need some firmware file to achieve the latter.
I would appreciate a response, especially if there is new software for XP that solves this deficiency.I have seen on the internet that this Scanner is similar to the Mustek Pearpaw 2400TA or 1200TA uses the same software, with the same graphic interface, I send photos of the serial number and model of my scanner. I have contacted Mustek USA and they tell me that they do not give support to Europe because it is another company Mustek Europe. I have downloaded the drivers of the scanner similar to my Packard Bell 2450 and it doesn't recognize it, I think I need some firmware.
I would appreciate your help so as not to fall into the programmed obsolescence of a product that is new and that I have already mentioned that my current means make me try to take advantage of it.
I have uploaded a video with the problem running at those moments the link is:I have also uploaded screenshots and characteristics of the device manager of one of the two computers on which it doesn't work, especially I am interested in making the TWAIN module work which has all the options, the images of the screenshots and information of the equipment are found in the following link:

If you have equipment to do tests, try it on an XP SP1 and SP2, because there are many cases of drivers that cause problems after applying a Service Pack, and as you already know, manufacturers do not provide support after several years, because they make money by selling you another item.

Thanks but it already worked with SP3 in fact in "Panel" mode which is an interface with a menu of pictograms, for scanner file, fax, E-mail and OCR it works. But I can't use the TWAIN module where I can select the area the resolution and scan transparencies and negatives.

If it worked well, when and why did it stop working?
The solution is, again, to uninstall drivers and scanner applications, but properly deleted. Packard Bell Diamond 2450 WIA Scanner 1.0.0.1 Completely Uninstalled
If, as you say, it used to work well, try using those same drivers.
According to what I have observed, there is the WIA and the flatbed model, one is from Mustek http://www.hamrick.com/vuescan/mustek_packard_bell_diamond_2450.html and the other is genuine HP. Download Packard Bell Diamond 2450 USB Flatbed Scanner for free
You can also use programs like Driver Easy or use the one that comes with Windows for your model.
In any case, it is only a problem of drivers and perhaps a Windows file that has been messed up. With enough tinkering, it will work well again.
